RIP Nick Bockwinkel

Former (4x) AWA champion & WWE hall of famer Nick Bockwinkel has passed away at age 80. The son of wrestler Warren Bockwinkel (who wrestled for Vince McMahon's grandfather Jess), Nick had an illustrious career lasting several decades. His promos were always clever & very articulate. I really get a kick out of the interviewer, "Mean" Gene Okurland. He brings a mock gravity to his part that just cracks me up.

I tip my hat to a legend of the ring. Nick was an older champion (52) than you would find almost anywhere in the world when he last held the AWA belt in '87, and to a lot of people he was still a believable champion as he took very good care of himself and was a serious wrestler.
