Another of the Greatest Generation has passed on after the news announced by the Vikings front office.

Grant signed up for the US navy after graduating high school and served state side and was coached by the legendary Paul Brown on an armed services football team. Grant is among the few two league pro players as he played 2 seasons in the NBA and won a championship with the then Minneapolis Lakers and then played in the NFL and CFL as a two way player he was deemed so knowledgeable of a player that upon his retirement from the Blue Bombers he was hired as the head coach. He won 4 league titles in 10 seasons and then was hired by the expansion Vikings who had never been anything but doormats and he won the last NFL title with the Vikings and led the ill fated Vikings into a SB loss against the more dynamic Chiefs in SB IV. After that he took the Vikings to 3 more SB appearances with similar results. Grant is in both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the CFL Hall of Fame as a coach.

Anyway sad news to report about Grant.https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/35835975/bud-grant-led-vikings-4-super-bowls-hof-career-dies

I always liked Bud Grant. Very classy. One of those greatest generation guys that must have been asking himself what good was the sacrifice to end up with the sh*t show we have today. He was a good coach and should have won a Super Bowl.
