Ken Buchanan the legendary Scottish boxer passed away on April 1, He was 77 years of age. He was a member of the Boxers Hall of Fame. He was the Unified Light Weight Champion in 1971.

Yes we missed this one I thought he had ALS(Lou Gehrig's disease) but the article mentions dementia as the leading cause of death.

While he was the first undisputed lightweight champion in the 2 belt era. He wasn't really the first undisputed champion as way back in the pioneer days Joe Gans(Black American from Baltimore) had a series of bouts with Battling Nelson(Dane) and these two never had their championship fights disputed.

Also Buchanan had a legitimate case for not being given time to recover from a foul against Duran even though Duran was thrashing him up to the disputed stoppage from a solar plexus punch.

Anyway sad news about the death of the gallant Scotsman.
