A legal 10.01 as a 19 year old, besting the previous U20 white record by Lemaitre, who ran 10.04.

He actually resembles Lemaitre physically, except he's shorter and even skinner.

He has the Italian surname "Gallina" and is from Maringa, a 71% white city in the South Region, the whitest region in Brazil.

Here's his Instagram

The top 5 all-time non-black U20 100 m sprinters are now:
=1. Yoshihide Kiryū - Japan - 10.01
=1. Renan Correa - Brazil - 10.01
3. Lalu Muhammad Zohri - Indonesia - 10.03
4. Christophe Lemaitre - France - 10.04
5. Adam Gemili - UK - 10.05

This young man is a real find.
I've been waiting to see more from him since his 10.01 in May.
But as far as I can tell, he hasn't raced since then.

Also, I hesitate to put his time above Lemaitre's, because he achieved that result in Bogota, Columbia, which is at significant altitude - 2640 meter or 8612 feet.
I hope we haven't seen the last of him for this year. He still has time to better Lemaitre's mark at non-altitude.

Well, I think I know why we haven't heard from Renan Correa since his 10.01 victory at the South American U20 Championships . . .
At those same Championships, after the 100m, he competed in the 200m.
I see that he finished last in his heat, in a time of 88.37.
Obviously he got injured and limped/walked to the finish. So we may not see him run again until next year - unfortunately.

he's got great potential for sure.
Just for the record Mureika's wind/altitude tables convert his 10.01 (2650m, +1.9m/s) to a baseline 10.17 - still terrific and good enough to run a sea level 10.10 in great legal conditions on any day.

Lemaitre's 10.04 (@ 75m and only 0.2m/s) still rates a 10.04
Yoshi Kiryu's 10.01 had 0.9 and virtually sea level at Hiroshima

We have a three way tie at 100 meters with southern hemisphere white guys at 10.01 with Browning, Correa and Erasmus.
