here are a couple o' links that i saw while cruising the net. this first guy is being recruited as a kicker, but what a day at tailback! Stephen Blose ran for 488 yards and six touchdowns. oh, and he kicked eight extra points! in one game. wow!

also from earlier this year, a little guy in Maine. he's only 5'10" 150 pounds, but Mardy Simon ran for 437 yards and 7 touchdowns on just 21 carries. in one game. again, wow!

record, he alrady has 1,495 yards this year on 101 carries. That's
freakin' 13.4 yards a touch!



Toby's being highly recruited by a number of major programs, unfortunately I think a lot of them will want him to play fullback

Dammit I am p-o'd !! We got this stellar young man playing for our local High School team that stands to rank in the top 30 rushers in the nation...ever. They figure he has a good chance of going over 8000 yards.

"The Spartans' James Edwards rushed for 199 yards and four touchdowns on 16 carries, propelling the two-time Greater Nevada rushing champion and state career rushing leader over the 7,000-yard mark. Edwards now has 1,829 yards for the season and 7,104 for his career with at least two games - next Thursday in the regular-season finale against visiting Lowry, and a Northern 3A play-in game the following week - remaining."


This team is undefeated as of now and looks to sweep State. If that happens, 8000 career yards isn't out of reach.


This is only 3 years worth of rushing for a very competitive 3A division. Yes he is being looked at and talked to by some of the regional colleges, but the colleges are recruiting him for ....


1. Running back?


2. Corner back?


3. Quarter back?


4. Safety


If you picked #4, you'd be correct. The kids 40 time (damn I hate that measurement) is about 4.6. But he is high schooler and can be trained by a good speed coach to shave off a couple of more tenths. His strength lies in his "field awareness" and his ability to juke yourbutt right our of your shoes. If you catch him and are able to hold on, he is going to drag you a couple of more yards at least. Very strong. Very smart (near 4.0 GPA) and a more modest youngster you will never meet. 5'10" or so and maybe 190 in his pads.


Black athletes in Vegas at the 4A division are getting heavily recruited by 1A schools. I guess they are bit more "showy" and run their moufs a bit more than Eddie does. But I hope that he gets the shot to play RB somewhere. Chance Kretchmer got casted while playing for UNR. This after he was a NCAA rushing leader as a freshman.


These scouts and coaches have been so socially engineered, I doubt that caucasian/asian/hispanic/indian kids will ever get the chance to play the RB position. Edited by: Animalmuther0

Actually, an Hispanic rb started for Oklahoma tonight. Jacob Gutierrez of San Antonio got to start because Adrian Peterson and his back-up were injured and Kejuan Jones managed to get himself suspended for the game. The 5'6" Gutierrez ran 30 times for 173 yds. So, if an Hispanic, Asian or white can get on a team, have at least two players get injured and one suspended they have as good a chance as anyone else to play.

This from Spring Creek, Nevadas' James Edwards. Senior RB. As of last Thurs.


In the Northern 3A, Spring Creek's James Edwards was overwhelming even by his standards in the first half of the Spartans' 56-7 win over visiting Lowry.

Edwards sat out the entire second half as Spring Creek (6-0, 9-0), which completed the first perfect regular season in the school's 14-year history, cruised to a 43-0 lead. In the first two quarters, he scored six touchdowns and gained 298 yards on 27 carries, giving him 2,120 yards for the season and wrapping up his third straight Greater Nevada rushing championship.

Edwards, the state's career rushing leader, has 7,400 yards for his career, and has scored 33 touchdowns this season, including four on defense.


He could still have 3 more games to go with at least one left. They start the post season next Saturday. The kid is amazing.
