I have noticed that many posters here accurately describe the difference between ethnicity and race. Unfortunately, I have seen the majority of DWFs refer to Mestizos/Mulattos athletes with Spanish last names as hispanics and latinos.

I live in a city called Hialeah which is located in Miami Dade County. We have a population of over 224,670. Approximately 93% of our population is White. Obviously, 95% of that White population is Latino/Hispanic (the majority are Cubans).

A lot of White Hispanics/Latinos are personally bothered by the stereotypes of Hispanic and Latino Americans that are often manifested in the United States mass media, theater, literature, and other creative expressions. It's ironic, but there is well over 200 million White Latinos.

Anyways here are some recent MLB Cuban & Cuban American Ball players. I am not including guys like Luis Gonzalez & Mike Lowell. It's funny, I personally know some of these guys.

Some might not consider Gio to be white, but he always reminded me of the Ray Romano type. But anyways he's really humble and a great kid.

My intentions for creating this thread is to educate some of the DWFs that lurk around these discussion forms but never sign up due to personal reasons. I just want to be perfectly clear - I was born in this country, but like all of you that are American, we are descendants of populations from around the world. I would also like to mention that I am not a racist as I have many friends from other races who are well educated and respectful. I signed up for this website because the site & posters are very informative and I support the Caste Football ideology. In the Western Hemisphere, there is a stereotype for white athletes at certain sports/positions and it's obvious they are not being given the same opportunities because of their skin color. I do not hold the blacks accountable, I hold it against the self loathing racist scouts, media, & the double standard society we live in!!!

Back when there was strict racial lines there was no denying that Cubans that played in the majors were White or could pass for 100 percent White. These days because of cultural sensitivities nobody is ever mentioned as White unless they volunteer the information.

A lot of DWFs probably think there are no Whites south of the Rio Grande. Their level of ignorance about the world around them is astonishing.

So here's something interested I stumbled upon while googling Cuban NFL Players. I had known about Esteban Bellan becoming the first hispanic/latino (Cuban) baseball player to ever play in the big leagues, but I did not know that the first hispanic NFL player was also Cuban. His name was Lou Molinet.

There's a new trivia question my father won't get!!! :icon_mrgreen:

Terry Francona is another White Cuban American baseball player and manager. You also could say retired manager Tony Larussa is one too. He is more commonly referred to as Italian American but he is half Cuban. He also has a stronger Spanish look to his facial features(or at least I think he does).

They're completely oblivious to the fact that those diverse South American countries have their own racial classifications and gladly divide by them.

Yes you can't expect much from the average DWF as they think all Canadians live like the Canadian beer commercials and the men are all built like Mark McGwire with thick beards....:scared: Of course White Cubans also have heels that have disgraced the game with lies to congress ie Raffi(not the cornball kids singer) and obsessive steroid abuser Jose Canseco( he is probably a Castizo). Ps I forgot Gonzo who was a good outfielder for years with Cubs and other teams and Tino Martinez who was a solid first basemen for a good decade. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRI-A3vakVg

Being from Miami, I'm actually part (white) Cuban among other things (Turkish, German, and French) It pisses me off when white Cubans are lumped into the mestizo category of that of Mexicans. I can tell you from living down here that white Cubans look down on Mexican mestizos quite a bit. Its good to see some nordic looking Cubans depicted in these pictures in order to dispel the myth of what the typical Cuban looks like.

I have to dispute this. I'm in Hialeah quite frequently and most of what I see are mestizo/mulattos. Plus, the area looks like one giant bodega. As I said, I'm of Cuban descent myself but I wouldn't use Hialeah to depict what the end all/be all of what Cuban American society looks like.

White Cubans either look Mediterrean looking or Nordic looking depending on what part of Spain their ancestry is from or if they have other Euro blood. Very few have any "Indio" blood. I have also read studies that very few have any African blood either unlike Puerto Ricans. It's probably why many Cubans like Andy Garcia look like Spaniards while less White Puerto Ricans do.

First and foremost, I am pleased to see that not everyone in Miami has succumbed to the thought process (if there's any) of a dwf. Thank you Robert Griffin the Turd for providing some hope. We must continue to strive towards educating our locals regarding the stereotypes that are made to our athletes and the double standards that prevent them from achieving success.

With regards to some of the remarks made by White is Right -

* Freddie Garcia is another White Cuban Baseball Manager.

* In recent memory, Yasmani Grandal and Gio Gonzalez (even though Gio is not considered white, he does have some white in his family
bloodline) were two other Cubans that contributed to the testing positive for performance enhancing drugs.

* I also agree with what white Cubans look like. Based upon my observation, I would say out of 10 white Cubans, 3 would be considered Nordic looking and the remaining 7 would be considered Mediaterran looking. I would also add that many White Cuban Americans are a brand of white Nordic/Mediaterran relationships.

White is Right, you sure do know a lot about Cubans, my curiosity wants to ask you how and why?

With regards to the comment made by Robert Griffin the Turd -

* I won't dispute that Hialeah looks like one giant bodega. I will also admit that Hialeah has recently changed in demographics. According to the 2010 Census, Hialeah still has the highest percentage of Cuban and Cuban American
residents in the United States, but since 2000, there has been an influx of mestizo/mulatto looking Colombians, Dominicans, Hondurans, Venezuelans, Nicaraguans, and new Cubans that can all contribute to the rise of the mestizo/mulatto population in Hialeah. But I truly believe it still really depends on which part of Hialeah you commute to.

In Hialeah Gadens/Miami Lakes, I would say 60% of the population is white. From West Hialeah 103rd/49 st down to East Hialeah (a lot of old aged Cubans) is closer to 80-85% white. Now if you consider Miami Gardens Drive - especially
67th ave/ 57th ave Hialeah, then I would admit it's only about 20-25% white. But overall, Hialeah is still dominated by a white population of hispanics.

Since we are posting on a thread of White Cubans. I have been wanting to mention this and dissect some of the advantages
of being a white hispanic:

White hispanics do not possess white guilt. And amongst many black Americans, once they hear some Espanol come out of the tips of our tongues, we are immediately classified as "Hispanic" and not identified as a white American of Spanish descent. So we fall into the minority category and in certain situations, we can fully utilize this to our advantage.

Call me a hypocrite if you want (I am not a racist), but I personally have found myself in a country bar where the n-word is floating back and forth like a group of Cuban refugees, and then a couple of days later, I find myself
playing pick up basketball games in the hood of Miami.

It'll be interesting to see if Marco Rubio uses this in 2016.

To the Sapient I am of distant Latino ancestry and have Caribbean ancestry. Even among the various Caribbean Islands the "Spaniard" populations look different due to some Indio or Negro blood or a mixture of the two. Cubans seem to have kept the Spanish blood closer to the old country than say PR or DR where many Quadroon to Octoroons can pass as Spaniards to the uninformed.
