UAB running back Dan Burks returned to practice on Tuesday for the first time since injuring his knee on Oct. 21 in a loss to Southern Miss. But Burks is still questionable for Saturday's regular season finale at East Carolina.
"I told him we're not playing him unless he's 90 percent or maybe more," said UAB head coach Watson Brown. "I just don't want to take a chance."
Burks appeared to be close to full speed during Tuesday's full-pad practice but he didn't take any contact on his knee.
Dan hasn't seen the field yet in their game against East Carolina, and the first quarter is almost over. He must have not healed as well as they first thought? We'll have to keep watching and see what happens. If UAB wins, Dan will likely start in their Bowl game.
