SSC's Myles Brennan leads the nation in passing
St. Stanislaus quarterback Myles Brennan is the nation's top prep passer, according to the National Federation of State High School Associations.
The sophomore entered Friday night's contest against St. Martin averaging 368 yards passing a game.Through three games, he had thrown for 1,105 yards and eight touchdowns.
In the Rockachaws' 34-31 victory over St. Martin at Brother Phillip Memorial Stadium, Brennan completed 19 of 31 passes for 390 yards and four touchdowns. His 30-yard TD pass to Chase Rhodes with 1:11 left sealed the victory for St. Stanislaus.
Owen Betz also threw a 54 yard pass to Rhodes on a reverse pass.
Brennan played through a huge cut in his throwing arm during the fourth quarter.
"I can't say enough about Myles Brennan," St. Stanislaus coach Bill Conides said. "He had a huge cut and came back to throw two touchdown passes. The cut will require stitches. He doesn't play like a sophomore."
St. Stanislaus takes its unbeaten 4-0 record to Friday night's contest at Sumrall.
