He's really losing it folks. This is going to be fun to watch. And the Angels are stuck with him for 10 years!

Now he's throwing tantrums and throwing his glove at a teammate! That's some real sportsmanship!

The Angels beat the Twins 6-2 last night and Albert Pujols went 2-for-5 with two RBI, bringing his average up to a blistering .198. Following the final out, the usual high-fives were doled out, but shortstop Erick Aybar opted for an elbow tap that Pujols did not appreciate. The struggling first baseman responded by angrily throwing his glove at Aybar and walking off, seemingly in a huff.

SI’s Will Carroll was quick to point out that the tapped elbow was the one he had fixed a couple years ago, so perhaps it’s still a little tender? Regardless, I’m pretty sure I haven’t seen a player throw a glove at another person since fourth grade. Never thought Albert Pujols, in his 12th year in the majors, would be playing the role of emotionally unhinged little brother.

This after going off on his new hitting coach:

A 10 year contract. :loco: It must be nice to have $240 million to waste on a guaranteed contract, and even nicer to be the player getting it. I don't understand how baseball teams make so much money given the sport's lousy TV ratings and obscene player salaries. But they do -- even the Pirates make lots of money by keeping their payroll relatively low and getting enough fans (suckers) to buy tickets year after year to see a team on a 20-year losing streak.

"
People are talking all of this [stuff],'' Pujols told USA TODAY Sports. "They're making such a big deal out of it. I can take it. I'm a big boy.
"I've been through this before. By the end of the year, my numbers will still be there.
"You'll see.''

"T
he expectations on this team were so high,'' Pujols said. "It's like people expected us to be 27-0. And I have that biggest contract of the winter, so I'm the one getting blamed.
"That's all right. I'm a big boy. I can take it. I'm fine, I really am.''
"I'm a leader in this clubhouse, just like I was in St. Louis.

If you say so, Fat Albert! I guess his idea of being a "leader" is bullying rookies like Brendan Ryan that he doesn't like.
