Did anyone get the Pride PPV tonight?

It was a great show, lots of good fights. There isn't much to discuss from a racial point of view. Most of the matchups were Brazilians against Brazilians, and Japanese against Japanese. The few matches of interest to us here on CF turned out well:

Cro Cop defeated Hidehiko Yoshida with leg kicks in the first round. Yoshida could not walk and had to be helped from the ring into the dressing room.

Josh Barnett subbed Mark Hunt, a Samoan bomb thrower, in the first two minutes. He made it look incredibly easy, taking Hunt down with a sweep and putting an ugly, painful looking chicken-wing submission on Hunt that made his face contort with pain.

The Polish judoka Pawel Nastula defeated Edson Drago of Brazil by submission. Drago was heavier and stronger than Pawel, but Pawel hung in there, obtained mount, and submitted Drago. By the way, Nastula is an Olympic judo champion.

Although Rogerio Nogueria is Brazilian, it was nice to see him get a win against Alistair Overeem, who despite being from Holland could be a poster boy for the athletic, muscled, black stereotype. Overeem was beating Nogueria pillar to post, until Nogueria caught him with a left that sent Overeem staggering. When Nogueria went after him, Overeem's corner threw in the towel, which to me appeared to be extremely pre-mature, but who knows.

For those of you who have never seen a Pride championship, I encourage you to search the web for clips or order the next event if you can. They will have their first event in the USA ever this upcoming October.
