That was some fair piece of flying by that pilot who hit the flock of geese flying out of LaGuardia airport in NYC yesterday, bound for Charlotte. Went up around the Bronx and came back down heading south to ditch in the Hudson River around 44th St. Never went above 3200 ft. A White guy of course.

The Miracle on the Hudson news will get us through the weekend as the Tragedy on the Potomac inaguration is happening Jan 20th.
That is one hell of a pilot and the first responders in New York are first rate and well trained.Edited by: guest301

Haha, the whole time I was wondering why this couldn't have happened next Tuesday to deflect some of the attention. In all seriousness though. Incredible work by the pilot, and it was great to see everyone solve the problem of getting the passengers on the plane to safety, as opposed to post-Katrina Lower 9th Ward New Orleans where people would have started capping each other.

Great story, the captain is a real hero.

Good thing the plane floated too, because according to one passenger in the back the water was quickly up to his neck. If the plane had sunk there would have been casualties.

I'm amazed no one captured the river landing on video.
