Well,Paul's racial make up may have had something to do with the decision,in any event,he is now known as the "X-Factor" by the bucco announcers, instant fame!,even as he missed the cut-off man against the Rockies today,we were told that his throwing arm was one of the reasons that he was traded for,and John Bowker was sacrificed.

The Pirates are looking very suspect and disinterested,Neil Walker is certainly a bright spot,John Bowker, and Alex Presley, playing at a very high level in the minor leagues, will they be recalled?,it may be that the "multicultural minded" Pirates do not want to get into a Tampa Bay,or San Francisco situation where they would have to start 6 or 7 White American players,"horrors",each time out!

LabMan: Pedro Alvarez sure has been a joke this year, hasn't he? Jose Tabata and Andrew McCutchen have underachieved, but, to be fair, I still think Cutch will be a good player. (He should watch some Andy Van Slyke tapes to see how CF is played, though.)One of the other thinks they'll need to do, but will put off longer than they should, is get James McDonald out of the rotation and someone like Brad Lincoln in to see if he can get the job done.

V/S,watch McCutchen's bad routes to the baseball, average throwing arm,and he will not steal a base, although he is greenlighted each time he gets on,the media,as usual has made him the face of the franchise!<div></div><div>I remember Steelers prez.Dan Rooney saying a few years back:,"we want Heinz Field to be the house that Kordel Stewart built",how stupid do they think we are?</div>

The Nightly Sports Report, headed up by one Jorey Rand reported from Pittsburgh last night that Pedro Alvarez had been placed on the 15 day D/L,his replacement would be Pedro Ciriaco, who was hitting .190 for the AAA club Indianapolis,he then went on to say that recently Ciriaco was not paying attention during an infield drill, and a coach hit a ground ball at him just to "wake him up"!<div></div>John Bowker who is hitting .358,and Alex Presley,.327 were "caste" aside, just can't figure that out!

The "battl'in Bucco's" have started a nice little three game losing streak, with two of them being shutouts,if anyone at this board feels that I'm lobbying for John Bowker, and Alex Presley, and protesting affirmative action call-ups,they would be correct!

Watching the Pirates and Cubs Andrew McCutcheon hits 2 run homer the announcing team of Greg Brown and Bob Walk talked about for 2 batters not even mentioning Neil Walker and Lyle Overbay just kept talking about McCutcheon truly as the post says the Pirates chase more diversity I hope this post never leaves this board because its not just in Pittsburgh but all over MLB

Josh Harrison has been brought up from the AAA team,Jorey Rand is the host of a twenty five minute sports segment in Pittsburgh, last night after a Pirate win he said,"Josh Harrison, can it be possible that is the third baseman of the future, moving Pedro over to first",he then did a visible shudder that I would describe as an orgasmic moment!,Josh Harrison is black.

All have read my posts concerning the non-call ups of Alex Presley, and John Bowker above,Alex Presley is hitting.344 with an on base avg. of .386,it turns out that according to Pittsburgh sports talk hosts,"there is no room for him",they just made a trade, and called two players up from AAA,see those players in above posts also,oh,and they told Presley he had to work on his "route running"!

LabMan is right. The Pirates could definitely use Alex Presley off the bench. They could accomplish this by getting rid of the useless Pedro Ciriaco.

The pirates are back to two games below 500,and if last nights game against the N.Y.Mutts is an indicator of the future of this team we will see that they have not made much progress, the core players for this team were always announced as Alvarez,Tabata,McCutchen, and Walker, the ratio was three non-Whites to one White American Player, and they were always talked about in that order, with Walker always mentioned last,no meaning to that?,the "caste"of players is well scripted.<div></div><div>It has always been my opinion,as you guys know, that the "up the middle" positions are the prime positions on a baseball team, these being catcher, pitcher, shortstop, second base, and center field, and these positions, especially catcher and center field, are the ones that the "diversity engineers"want to take away from White American players.</div><div></div><div>So many top notch catchers in college baseball,as witnessed each year in the college world series, the Oakland A's felt the need to make a Korean connection bringing in Kurt Suzuki, the Angels followed the pattern,as we see Hank Conger catching for them, the latin influx in this area is most notable as we see the Molina brothers cover three positions of leadership on three different teams.</div><div></div><div>If major league line-ups are checked out these statements can be verified, the minor league rosters prove to be even worse, three years ago,Neil Walker"in my opinion"was forced out of the catching position to open it up for Ronnie Paulino who is now long gone,Walker went to third base where he played very well, then to second base where he now plays even better, the Pirates now have a catching problem due to injuries, three Latin catchers wait in the wings!</div><div></div><div>Again,in my opinion, and no,I am not sorry for this long rant,Walker should go back behind the plate, but that would show the Pirate management of "social engineers"thatthey were wrong to "Latinize"the position,Walker's defensive skills as a catcher were always played down, for the usual reasons, but they are solid.</div><div></div><div>The Pirates are spending close to a million dollars to build a complex in the Dominican republic to train and bring to the team players from that part of the world, last night during the game an effort was made to raise money to build fields for handicapped kids in the Pittsburgh area, where did that money come from?,the fans called in and bid auction style to cover expenses,no bidding in the Dominican!</div>

The Buc's promote shortstop Chase d'Arnaud, but he played third base in his first game, will he hear the same comments about his first name that Chase Headly hears in San Diego on a regular basis?,not many negative comments heard on the name "Prince"!,Brad Lincoln, and Alex Presley on the way also,so good news!

Presley just a stop gap

I continually read the posts on the Pittsburgh sites and in all but a few, Presley is getting good comments but they all view him as just a stopgap player until Starling Marte gets to Pittsburgh. They all then go into orgastic extasy thinking about an outfield of Tabata, McCutchen and Marte, while "giving" Presley a chance at the 4th outfielder position. If Presley were black he would be placed on a pedestal and worshiped. Same with how they treated Hanrahan. His all star selection was all but ignored while they screamed and moaned about McCutchen not making the team. Then when he was added they put the news on the scoreboard and he got a standing ovation and tipped his hat. The next day when Correia was added they did not put him on scoreboard and not much was made about it. Plus every allstar Pirate picture was Cutch. D'Arnaud has been exciting at short but they all want to send him down and try to trade for Jose Reyes or god forbid Rafael Furcal. And they want us to trade for one or two of these: Carlos Pena, Aramis Ramirez, Matt Kemp, Carlos Lee...well you get my drift. But if you mention Hunter Pence they all say he is not worth it and cant keep up his good numbers.......sigh.......the beat goes on

Harrison

Harrison is always mentioned on the Pirates tv as the "speedy" Harrison. But in reality he is very average in speed, in fact slightly below average for a black man. He also is one of the worst defensive players in the game with a horrible horrible arm. And if you look at his stats real close you realize his average is a straw horse. Poor player. he is better than Pedro Ciriaco but then everyone in baseball is

Exciting McCutchen

Was reading Bucs Dugout and during game thread a poster actually posted "Man did you guys see how cool Cutch was when he took that walk. No body can look so cool when he gets a walk. Man he is just exciting and so cool." He took a freakin ball four and went to first but this stupid idiot was wetting his pants in girly boy excitement just watching him do it.

Walker

And there is a guy on another site that constantly posts saying Neil Walker is not good, should be traded or sent down, and that rbi's don't mean anything because he would not get them except for Tabata and McCutchen getting on in front of him

McCutchen has a spaghetti arm, and poor baseball instincts seemingly never knowing which base to throw to. He makes a lot of errors but should have had many more but they really go out of their way to not give him errors on most of his gaffes

Saber Junk

I hate sabermetrics. Most of these stats were invented for fantasy league players. Scouts use some but not as many as most saber junkies think. and man can guys do a number with these things when they want to. I just read on a pirates site how Jose Tabata is worth sooooo much more than Hunter Pence. He used sabemetrics of course and it was an exercise is tortured logic. But basically it is just using the same stats to get different results. The same stats that Pence has would be proven to be awsome if he were black and on the Pirates, but since he is white they use them to prove how 'lucky' he has been this year and therefore he is not worth trading for.

LOL at the rbi's don't mean anything. It's only the most important stat for a batter to be able to be a clutch hitter with men on base...

I was stunned to find out how White the first place Pirates are. Was talking to my nephew the other day and asked him about that day's starting lineup. It was all White except for McCutcheon. This is an organization that has let so much White talent leave over the years through trades just as they were reaching their peak years because they didn't want to pay them, in exchange for mostly an endless parade of unproductive blacks and hispanics. But lo and behold, when the team finally becomes a contender, it's comprised mostly of those easily discarded yet indispensible White players.

I'm now, at least temporarily, a Pirates fan again, despite their having the worst ownership in baseball.

In the way back to the 1980's file, when the St. Louis Cardinals traded Andy Van Slake, Mike Lavalliere, and Mike Dunne for Tony Peña, Pittsburgh fans were very happy; whereas, St Louis fans were not! In all probability, a White play with Peña statistics would not have commanded that much, but blacks have a history of commanding more in trades than do White players.

This was the bases of Pittsburgh power for years, but the real question is how many teams today would trade a mediocre black player for excellent White players?
