Paul Orndorff R. I. P.

Great physique on Paul. I’d love to learn his steroid cycle, as he avoided most of the common pratfalls of that experimental era of the early 80s. I don’t know how he looked or fared in old age, but 71 is pretty ripe for a career meathead.

He also had an awesome heel gimmick that, like everything older than 2017, couldn’t be used these days. Check out his trip to the gym:

I am afraid his life had been hard the last few years for Paul.

The last 10-15 years of his life he lived in fear. He feared living without that armor he wore for decades and he feared dying. I take it he never knew what the Great Father has given everyone of us if we just learn it. Had he known he would have feared nothing and would of left this earthly plane smiling.

71 is very old age for a veteran of the drug fueled craziness that was the wrestling industry in the 80s and 90s.

I enjoyed Orndorff's work a lot. "Mr Wonderful" was a great gimmick for a pretentious heel, and the piledriver was a scary and high impact move back in the 80s. His WCW theme music at the end of his career was also hilariously awful.

If I were to make an “educated” guess lol considering the era and what was readily available and legal
I’m gonna say probably somewhere around a gram of test and a gram of deca every two weeks. Most likely some dbols every day leading up to matches. You used to be able to buy 25mg and 50mg dbols at the counter of gyms back then. Perfectly legal. He had definitely been hitting the weights all throughout high school and college for football. (Another White rb passed over) and already had a great place to start doing some serious gear.

My Dad got to meet Big John Stud back in the 80’s. My Dad was working the baggage ramp for TWA. BJS walked into the lunchroom where they all hung out between flights and yelled “WHICH ONE OF YOU LOST MY SUITCASE!!!”
and my Dad said everyone in the room including himself looked like they pissed themselves in fear. My Dad was 6’2” 275 and he said BJS looked like a ******* giant compared to him lol. It ended up being a joke the flight crew played on the ramp and he said BJS was cool as hell and laughed and took the time to meet everyone.
