Ive been a huge fan of Kerney all year, but l think Mark Tauscher will shut him down on saturday
 
From what I understand, Kerney missed practice yesterday with an injury. Does anyone have any news on his status?
 
I didnt even know he was hurt but Im actually kind of hopeful he wont play to help ensure a packers winEdited by: Johnnyrebb
 
Welcome to Caste Football Johnnyrebb. I don't care who wins Saturday outside of the Patriots and Colts, but I would like to see Eli Manning get a playoff win. Hopefully Jason Witten will have a great day as well.

Tauscher is very good, has great technique and never gets penalyzed. Doesn't get nearly enough recognition nationally. However,if Kerney is not injured he should have a great game, with a sack or two, because he is so quick and strong and has been on a roll. He was double and triple teamed last week and still was awesome.
 
Tauscher and Kerney, two great white warriors. I wish them both the best today. I'd also like to see Brian Russell pick off a pass or two from Favre.


Kampman should have a big day today, and Hawk & Popinga will be all over Alexander.

Seahawks DE Patrick Kerney has changed his mind and will retire from football after all. After a January Profootballtalk report that he had held a retirement party, Kerney indicated that he would return for one more season. Citing wear and tear on his body, Kerney is now hanging up the spikes. A first-team All Pro as recently as 2007, the 33-year-old will end his career with 82.5 sacks, the majority with the Falcons.

Stellar player, and I enjoyed watching him play.

Patrick Kerney was the first DE to catch my eye when I started watching the NFL 4 years ago. What a monster athlete and a ripped one at that! Sad to see him go but this gives Nick Reed a chance to step up. Nick Reed can easily take Kerneys mantle as the Seahawk no1 DE, if given a fair chance which he didn't get last season. Reed had a phenomenal pre season recording 4.5 sacks in the 4 games plus an interception and a good amount of tackles, and he didn't even start a game! I think Reeds gonna be a star, but like I say and as we all know he needs a fair shot. The Seahawks have an average bunch of DE's which gives Reed a real good chance though. One for us to keep our eyes on.

great player, great athlete, i am quite surprised that he decided to retire already, he only needed 17 sacks for a 100.

I was became a big fan of Kerney when he played for the Falcons. I'm surprised he retired now, as he has more football left in him. He probably wants to spend time with his bride-to-be Lisa Gangel (Seattle newswoman).
