Heading into Week 15, Freiermuth is 45/385/7 so far in his rookie season. The catches and yardage are very good for a first year rookie tight end, but the TD number really stands out. Freiermuth is tied for second among all NFL TEs in TD receptions, and has more than all other rookie tight ends combined. His 45 catches currently ranks 11th among all tight ends.

Freiermuth earned Big Ben's trust back in training camp and is the main target he looks to in the endzone. That shows how intelligent he is in addition to being a fine athlete. It also says something about the over-hyped Pittsburgh receiving corps, especially Chase Claypool, the tall receiver who was being compared to Randy Moss by some "experts" last season. The Steelers have been terrible at drafting in recent years, but two of the rare White players taken are both standouts, T. J. Watt and now Pat Freiermuth.

Freiermuth is said to be a good blocker. He's the kind of player you can build around.

I was thinking of PF yesterday when the sports talk guys were speaking about JuJu coming back this week and next year...Back to if I was a GM thinking here....

Instead of having a few flops at wide receiver, why not make your stud tight end a wide receiver? Pittsburgh should have Claypool, Johnson, JuJu and PF as wideouts. Let one of the other tight ends start.....You’ll end up with more talented pass catchers and route runners.....George Kittle should be a WR....

Freiermuth has been a great story this year. He's obviously utilized much more as a true TE than Pitts who is used like a WR. Curious to see what the Steelers do at QB. Of course we all know the formula of black qbs having superb White TEs as security blankets. Let's hope that doesn't repeat itself here.
