We no longer have to lament the lack of a player who has the skill and mental toughness to challenge Tiger Woods. Padraig Harrington has been nothing less than a terminator the past two majors, playing spectacular golf today to win the PGA over Sergio Garcia.
It was the second straight major that Harrington shot 32 on the back nine of the final round to win. He went 66-66 the final two rounds of this one and made great pressure putts on 16, 17 and 18 to win today when it looked like it was going to be Garcia's day to win his first major.
That's back to back majors for Harrington, two straight British Opens, and wins in 3 of the past 6 majors. Very, very impressive and very unexpected. No one can question the legitimacy of these two wins in the absence of Tiger. Edited by: Don Wassall
