Just finished watching HBO's faceoff with Kellerman, Ortiz and Mayweather. It was interesting/surprising:boxing: how a visbly pissed off Ortiz called Max to the carpet in disparging him after his loss to Maidiana and several fights thereafter.

Ortiz then rightfully asserted that during his epic win over house affelet Berto, Max wanted Berto to win and so on. Max at that point became uncomfortable in the studio setting.

I think Ortiz has the youth, skill and power to upset gayweather. I think the blue print is to fight gayweather the way Oscar De La Hoya did. The difference is that Ortiz won't fade in the last 3 rounds like Oscar did. Should be an interesting fight. All the competive fighters who fought against gayweather, lacked the stamina to close the show. I hope this time will be different.

Don, Jaxvid or White Lighting, I blundered. I meant to put this thread obviously in the boxing forum. Could one of you please transfer it. Thanks

Ortiz has heart, character and determination. His story (like many fighters) is one borne out of struggle and desire against the odds to define who his is as a man and how he is able to battle back from disappointments and crushing circumstances.

Gayweather, on the other hand, is found lacking in the character department. Most of his adversities were and are self-inflicted, caused by reckless, lifestyle choices.

I very much want Ortiz to win this bout. If he chases Gayweather around the ring for twelve rounds, he will loose on points. Ortiz needs to make cut-off the ring, make the fight come to him and utilize his jab early and often (every time Gayweather gets near him).

Victor needs to outwork Gayweather by landing multiple combinations, keep his hands moving, while not allowing the grab-a-holic to hold him when they get on the inside.

This is shaping up to be a very good fight!
