This is super early, but NFL Draft Countdown only has four white guys going in the first round next year. They are all serious first round locks (Leinart, Greenway, Hawk, Winston) but only 4 people?!?! I hope some more players step up or catch the attention of the scouts because that would be pathetic!

Again I ask where is Mike Haas? Why is it that this kid can lead the nation,I repeat, lead the nation in receiving and not go in the first round. How can you not consider him as he is the BEST WIDE RECEIVER in the country!!Man do I hate the NFL!!

Mind you I would take anything on that page with a grain of salt. It predicts that the Dolphins will have the worse overall record and the Vikings will make the confrence championships

Believe it, Mike Haas will go undrafted. And why not: hes white,
exceptionally athletic and makes black corners look , well like black
corners (average)

Our country and sport has been turned over to non-whites.

Oh, Hass will definitely get drafted. There's almost always one or two white receivers that get drafted every year. He just won't be drafted as high as he deserves, and he'll be taken to eventually become the third receiver of which ever team drafts him.

That's just not good enough. Why the hell can't a kid like Mike Haas go in the top 5 of the first round? Why can't he be a number 1 receiver in the nfl? There is no reason as to why he can't be other than the color of his skin. That is complet b.s. and we know it.He needs to know that and get an agent that will work his ass off to get him drafted early to a team that will make him a star. That is where it is at.He should accept nothing less.

I agree Hass needs an aggressive agent, but nothing can be put in racial terms. With the Caste System and its media arm dead set against "insurgents" Hass's pro career would be over before it started if race were even implied.

Danny Farmer was projected to be a late first round or early second round pick until he was injured his senior year at UCLA. Joe Jurevicius went in the second round, Kevin Curtis and Eric Crouch in the third. And of course Matt Jones went in the first round after the system gave up trying to make him a tight end. Adam Archeluta went in the first round as a safety. It's possible Hass could go in the first round. I'm not predicting it but I wouldn't be surprised if he goes in the second round with a slight chance at the first round. The projections being made now by the professional draft junkies will look a lot different in March than they do now.

trying to predict the draft is almost pointless.

the patriots took an unrated white guard in the first round last year. anything can happen.

Jones was the first white wide receiver to go in the first round in over 20 years. the last guy before him to do it was Chris Collinsworth.

The idea of Hass not being drafted is ridiculous.

He has several things going in his favor. For one, as far as I know,
he's never been injured, which tells the league that he's durable.
Second, he's a great story, the walk-on player made good.

Where he is ultimately drafted will depend a lot on what he does at the
combine. If he does good and shows speed around 4.4 then he has an
excellent chance of being a late first round pick or early second round
pick.

Yeah white receivers seem to have a slightly easier (monsterous

) time being drafted or picked high than white RBs do.

To show the bias against Haas,Oregon State could be undefeated and he still wouldn't get mentioned in the Heisman Talk.I guarantee it.They don't even consider him to be the best receiver in the Pac Ten.Derek Hagan is always menitoned first & foremost.Haas is the best in the Pac 10 and the nation. It wouldn't shock me to see him fall way down into the 5th or 6th round. It's all about the stereotypes that just won't die.The only bright side is that Haas will prove them all wrong!!Don't bet against this kid.He has proved everyone wrong his whole life.

Haas, like most white athletes, is stuck with the stigma of being an overachiever. The "genious minds" that evaluate a players NFL potential, wont see much value with him at the next level. If he was black of course he would be seen simply as an outstanding reciever and get drafted in the first round. Since he is white i agree with wl and predict 5th or 6th round, if he's lucky.
