I find it interesting that everytime this film comes up people love to talk about how Jesse Owens proved Hitler wrong. However, what doesn't come up is that Germany won more medals than anyone in the 1936 Olympics. I doubt they would have said Hitler was right if he had lost. Great movie by the way.

When I tell kids about the Berlin Olympics they just stare back at me blankly. Huh?

This is very much like the myth that Billie Jean King proved women athletes were the equal of male athletes because she beat Bobby Riggs in the Astrodome in 1973.
Geez, Riggs was 55-years old at the time! He had been a world champion tennis player in 1939! Had she taken on one of the top male tennis players of the day (John Newcombe or even Rod Laver) she'd have had her clock cleaned and pressed for her.
