Number 42, And The Freedom Of Choice......
The spectacle that unfolded onESPN last night,The San Diego Padres vs the Los Angeles Dodgers can best be described,in my opinion, as "un-natural".
I watched long enough to see which grown American citizens would lose their freedom of choice pertaining to the number that they wore on the back of a baseball uniform.
The whole Dodger team wore #42,as a tribute to Jackie Robinson.One black player,Mike Cameron,wore Robinsons old number for San Diego.Even the Latin Padre players chose their own numbers.It would be interesting to know "who" spoke to the Dodger players about the freedom to choose a number,and "what was said.
