Notre Dame’s recruiting class

In the East/West Shrine game they showed a picture of five of their recruits playing in the the game- 4 whites and 1 black. I don't know about the rest of their guys.Edited by: KG2422
 
Here are the white skill players that they have on the commitment list:

Zach Frazer - QB, 6'4" 215lbs, 4.83 40yd
Barry Gallup - WR, 5'11" 175lbs, 4.44 40yd
Paddy Mullen - TE, 6'5" 265lbs, 4.72 40 yd
Robby Parris - WR, 6'4" 185lbs, 4.52 40 yd (they claim he's the next Samardzija)
Konrad Reuland - TE, 6'6" 239lbs, 4.75 40yd
Luke Schmidt - RB, 6'3" 230lbs, 4.6 40yd

Here is a guy that I don't get, a black DB, Leonard Gordon, 5'10" 195lbs, 4.7 sec 40yd time. You would think that they could find a white DB that can run faster than that.
 
WR Robbie Parris is the real deal as he is probably a top 3 WR in the state of Ohio.
 
Looks encouraging, of course it remains to be seen whether these guys will see the field. It will be somewhat noticeable this upcoming season whether Weis will be more favorable to whites or not. It will really be in 2007 though, before his changes will start to show up on the field more prominently. I eagerly await this time!
 
ND's 25 verbal commitments as of January 7 include 11 whites and 14 blacks. They are also trying to get Mitch Mustain, whose teammate is already committed to ND. I thought Mustain was committed to Arkansas though. Looks like he has backed out and is now looking hard at ND and Tennessee. I hope he goes to ND. ND also has committments from 2 QB's, 1 white and 1 black.

Theres lots of NFL safeties that run 4.7 and slower, probably some cornerbacks to. Most white guys that run a 4.7 arent even allowed to play linebacker much less be a defensive back.
 
I know they have a commitment from a massachusetts kid barry gallup who I used to play against in hockey...hes only 5-11 175 but he runs a 4.44 and the scout site actually commented on his SPEED..
 
Notre Dame also offered a good amount of whites at their recent junior day so I hope the trend continutes and Weis doesn't fall victim to the system.. it looked as if they were also looking at some white LBs which would certainly be a plus.
 
Belmont Hill(Gallup's high school) has a long tradition of athletic success. A lot of good football players from the private schools in the Boston area are not recruited. They are often unbiased. I thought I had read in SI a while back that Gallup had commited to BC.
 
I enjoyed rooting for Notre Dame this year, the first time I ever have. I would like it to be a team I could permanantly follow on a year in year out basis like Duke in basketball. Charlie Weiss is off to a good start. Notre Dame is the college version of "america's team" with their own tv contract. They would have alot of influence on tearing down the caste system brick by brick.

I notice the kid's a fullback. Notre Dame has had some outstanding White fullbacks over the years (Fitzgerald, Edwards, Lopienski), all of whom quickly disappeared in the NFL.
 
On Notre Dame's rivals website, all they show are black kids pictures. What a shame they won't even put one white kids picture up! Maybe they can get one more white RB before the 8'th!

thats probable whiter then what they had this year..... an almost entirely black defense, a mixed offensive line, 2 of 3 WR's were white, white TE's, at least here they have a good white linebacker...


Granted there is a good chance they will start that black kid at QB of Zach...its kinda odd that they recruted one of the only goodblack QB prospects available... Even the runnning QB's are white in this years prospect rateing's;I hear thatwhitehigh school QB's have been workingon their running game to become more appealing to scouts, at least down in OC.
