Come on guys. I've been away a couple of weeks, and I expected to come back to at least one thread about Holly "Ronda-ing" Bitche Correira.

Holly is the most decorated UFC fighter of all time, male or female. She was robbed of being the first woman to hold two belts in two weight classes by Todd Anderson and his horrible ref job, if you can even call it that.

Rumor is she will be given a warm up fight, and will fight either the winner of Shevchenko-Nunes (Shevchenko will win, but Nunes is chum for Holly). or Justino-Anderson (Cyborg by murder over Megan, but I will put some money down on Holly over Cyborg.) Yes I said Holly beats Cyborg. Holly looks average against passive fighters, and absolutely obliterates aggression (See: Ronda Rousey's head).

Well, that's my Holly rant. I met her years ago when I was at a silver gloves tournament in Albuquerque, NM, and followed her career from the moment she went pro.

Oh, and since no one is talking about it:

Holly's the female version of CroCop. Those left high kicks...

She's a great fighter & I'll pull for her (especially in 'caste' match-ups). That being said....I personally prefer women being Godly wives & mothers...taking care of the home & kids. The old time way is (still) the best way. ;-)

I have no problem with a woman being other than a homemaker.

My wife is a Biometrics analyst with an MS in Security Systems Engineering, and is one of only 70,000 Americans with a CISSP certification. Even with my job and a VA 100% rating, I barely make half of what she does. But I'm not at all intimidated by her success. Thats why I married her.

My daughter wants to be a graphics designer, and I absolutely encourage that. I am no neanderthal. That said, the evaporation of the stay at home is an issue. But that's because the Marxist Redcoats have tried to use the third wave misandrists to shame women into working, while emasculating men into being stay at home bitches.

There is a difference between a strong woman that chose that route (my wife has a STEM degree, so eat that third wave man haters), or a faux strong woman being brainwashed to believe she can do anything a man can...well once we lower the standards for them.

I am torn on this one, because I know the importance of the nuclear family. The thing is, teaching good values, can make a big difference, even if both parents work. Always a work around.

When I was younger, I was seriously considering going to medical school, but ultimately decided against it. The amount of time (4 years of college, 4 years of med school, 3 years of residency) before being considered a "real" doctor, plus the enormous cost and associated loan debt, made me decide it just wouldn't be worth it. It would have thrown off the schedule of starting a family far too much. Instead, I got a four-year nursing degree at a state university, paid for with a combination of scholarship money, part-time work, and a little support from my parents - no debt at all. RNs make a good salary ($70k/year), and with the money I've saved up from the past several years of working, my husband and I can support our future children on his income alone while I stay home with the kids.

A woman who's actually worth something, no matter how she chooses to live her life, doesn't need feminism. Your wife sounds like a well-rounded person and a good role model for your daughter. From what you say, she reminds me of a few female doctors I know - they'll be the first to denounce the fat, stupid, blue-haired activists who bitch and moan nonstop about "the patriarchy." And I'm sure you and she both know more than anyone about the evils of the H-1B visa system.

The typical feminist these days thinks she can get some liberal arts degree from some expensive and prestigious place like Yale or USC, then get a six-figure salary right out of college, sitting in an air-conditioned office all day, managing the company's Twitter account, sending out tweets about diversity. Considerations like student loan debt, that liberal arts degree not being worth the paper it's printed on, and a ticking biological clock don't enter her mind until it's too late. She'll wake up on her 35th birthday and suddenly realize that she has no husband, no children, a body that's getting fatter and older, some shi'itey cubicle job that pays shi'ite wages because that liberal arts degree was useless, and no prospects for the future. She'll either go through life alone or settle for some alcoholic loser husband because that's all she can get, and wonder where it all went wrong.

Unfortunately, few American couples have the luxury of the wife being a stay at home mother even if she wants to be. The decline in the standard of living of middle class Americans began at the same time feminism and women working outside the home began being heavily pushed by the system. Coincidence? Hardly. The only question might be whether the decline in the ability of a husband to support his family alone speeded up the rise of feminism, or whether this is what the cultural communists were working toward all along. I would say the latter: feminism in the USSR generations ago was much like it is today in the USSA, the effects of which are still being felt in Russia -- men drinking themselves to death at young ages, mistreating women, just a lot of dysfunction and aimlessness between men and women.

We need to have a healthy society where couples can choose their roles based on their values and what works best for them, rather than being forced into both working out of economic necessity. Technological advances have made many things much more affordable than they used to be, but government greed and incompetence and corporate monopolies continue to relentlessly eat into the cost of living. Until the swamp is drained in Washington, and corporate tyranny is also ended, the plight of working class, middle class, and increasingly upper middle class Ameicans, will continue to decline.

I'm of that generation and I like my woman taking care of the house and family foremost. I don't see any point in women doing combat sports but if they want to get their nice faces crashed obviously it is their natural right to do so.
