Nike TV Ad

I have not seen commentary posted on this site, regarding the new Nike TV commercial. It is loaded with celebrities: Jimmy Johnson, Mike Vick, Brian Urlacher, and others. The main rub -- the big ugly stereotype -- that catches my eye is the pretty blonde girl who makes goo-goo eyes and small talk with the black high school football player. The implication is that she's hot for him and cheering for him to score (in more ways than one).

Whoever wrote this filthy ad needs his ass kicked!Edited by: Deus Vult

It was discussed on an NFL post earlier. As you might expect it didn't get rave reviews on this site. The black "dad" has a blonde wife, the blonde cheerleder is in heat over the commercial's star, and the only white player, Urlacher, plays a dumbass/troublemaker in the classroom. Nice job Nike.

Buy Reebock

Don't buy Nike or Reebok, they both stand for the same thing---thuggish, ghetto style. Both of those companies have shoes put out on the market by rappers. One of the rappers that has his own shoe, is Birdman a.k.a. BABY the #1 Stunna, you might have seen the commercials. Other "rappers", with their own line of shoes from either of these companies, are 50 Cent, Loyd Banks, and Juvenile. In other words, boycott both brands.

I haven't worn either of those brands since I was like 12. Instead, wear DC Shoe Co., Vans, ES, Duffs, NSS, Osiris, etc. These are all skate-shoe companies, and a good percentage of the money that people spend on them, goes to sponsoring skateboarders and BMXers (which are 95% White most of the time). Support OUR OWN community and athletes, not theirs.

"What about K-Swiss LaCoste + Addidas?"

Reebok is owned by Addidas. Addidas is a German company. Reebok has line of hockey equipment. K-Swiss aired a multicultural ad recently. Skate apparel looks to emoish for me. I don't want to dress like an emo punk. Besides their clothing is also made in another country. But their shoes are good. I have a pair of Vans.

Off the top of my head:
Lonsdale
Everlast
Carhartt
Union Jean Co.

These brands are made in the U.S. or Europe. But not like that matters since illegals probably made them.

Reebok has their own line of hockey equipment, they also bought out and own CCM a couple of years ago. Nike owns Bauer. My pickings for hockey equipment are getting slim, I wont buy any of the above, its either Mission, Easton or Graf for me.

Yeah, I know Reebok has their own line of hockey stuff now, but the equipment is suspiciously similar in style and design to Jofa. Graf makes some of the best skates around, as they are anatomically perfect in design, and not too stiff. As for Mission, I had Flyweights senior year of high school and I didn't like them; the blade is canted too far towards the arches, and it just feels like a roller hockey skate. Right now, I'm in a pair of '03 Easton Z Air Comps. They're a great skate, but you have to heat mold them 4 or 5 times to get the fit you want.

CCM being bought out is news to me. We really have no choices any more.

My skates are old and quite embarrassing. We have not had cold winters the past few years, so I haven't really been out on the ice. I really envy you guys in the northern states.
