NFL All Rookie Team Announced

Big Ben of course is the QB. Four of the o-linemen are white -- tackles Robert Gallery and Shane Olivea, guard Chris Snee and center Nick Hardwick. For some reason there are three WRs but no TE. Chris Cooley was the best rookie tight end this year and should have been included.

End Jared Allen and linebacker Teddy Lehman made it on defense. That's seven whites out of 22, eight if we add Cooley at the missing tight end position. That's a higher amount than the average NFL starting lineup and far better than the coal black Pro Bowl roster.

I'm surprised that many Whites were chosen. No doubt the TE slot was overlooked because god-all-mighty we just can't have another white catching the damn ball! Stokley is enough of an embarrassment already...

Thanks. I had been buried with work, and then had some family problems that thankfully have worked out OK. Something to be thankful for over the Christmas and New Year's Holidays.

The reason that white rookies such as Cooley are often cheated out of
careers and honors is because it is so difficult for smaller program
players, such as Cooley not to have their athleticism criticized no
matter what. Yeah, a white player from a top program will have an
easier time earning coaches respect. Since top programs rarely
recruit white players anymore(many virtually all black starting teams),
the only other white players are from small programs.

We need more Iowa's, Utah's, and Boise State's.

Small program players do not get the respect they deserve because they
are not judged by merits or ability. They are judged by a system
that uses weaker colleges to weed out white players.

I am sure Cooley will be criticized for something ridiculous. Maybe, lack of downfield agility.

Right on the button, Ice Speed. The more excellent white
players at top programs the better. It was nice to see a few
white defensive players in last night's USC/ Oklahoma game,
Dan Cody and two white USC linebackers. But no WR's or
RB's.

Anything that puts less emphasis on the top programs would
obviously help. Maybe what we need is more parity in college
football. There are many factors as to why white basketall
players have more "draft potential" than white football players,
and the parity in college basketball seems to be one of those
factors. Luke Jackson was a lottery pick despite going to a
school that didn't even participate in the NCAA tournament in
his last season. Andris Biedrins, an 18 year old European kid,
high schooler Robert Swift, and Rafael Araujo of Brigham
Young were also lottery picks. Basketball is by no means
perfect, but how much worse would it be if they only wanted
players from a handful of top programs?

With or without more parity, schools like Utah and Boise State
beating teams like Oklahoma and USC would be great, too.
Whether in the regular season or a bowl game, that may
garner a little respect for their white-friendly rosters.
