NFL 2013-14 Playoff thread

To illustrate my point above, in the last Carolina series, Newton only threw to his first read on every throw. On one play where Skuta was given a baloney roughing the passer penalty, Newton was runnin' after his first read was covered, rather than stepping up in the pocket like a real QB. Then he throws a BAD pick while trying to force the ball to his first read when two of his other receivers were pretty much wide open.

The game of football is being ruined! With a O-Lineman all over him...Dan Skuta makes the bone jarring sack for a huge loss on Cam Newton...but instead it's called unnecessary roughness for a 15 yard penalty!

Panthers deserve to lose down 2 TD's(5:00 min left) calling draw plays for the lumbering Mike Tolbert for 1 yard gain.

Newton just threw INT...looks like this game could be over

I wonder if Cam will get the same treatment as Tebow...hahahahaha...of course he won't, he's Black.

Sucks.

It's just about showtime. We win either way with this game but due to Mannings age, I have to root for Denver. I hope it's a high scoring game though and I would love to see Woodhead rush for 100 yards. I also hope both Welker and Decker can each have good games like Edelman and Amendola did yesterday.

So far all the favorites have won in the divisional round, last time favorites went perfect in the divisional round was 2004.

Denver all-coal on defense when they announced the starters. Anyone know why Wolfe isn't starting?

Why is Decker returning punts? Shades of Jason Sehorn, I don't like this at all.

Matthews suits up despite not practicing all week, starting.

on NFL Network they said Woodhead was the the 2nd best free agent rb pick up besides Reggie Bush.

I agree. It's funny, look at their careers. One was heralded as a once-in-a-decade type of running back since jr high school, was the consensus number 1 overall nfl draft pick (though he ended up going second), was a Heisman winner; the other was ignored by every division 1 school and then was ignored by the NFL, sat on waivers for a week and was this close to never having an NFL career. They are neck and neck talent wise. The difference is skin deep.

How many teams use a white punt returner? Seems a lot higher than it used to be.

Wolfe had a seizure on the team bus a month or so ago and hasn't played since. The cause of it still hasn't been conclusively diagnosed. Earlier in the season he had the potentially serious neck injury, now this.

A few years ago we had a thread on this. It was up to about 14 teams using a White to either return kickoffs and/or punts at one point which was amazing for the NFL, but then dropped off rapidly. I don't think it was more than 5 or 6 this past season.

Quite a fall from last year when they started 11 in the playoffs against Baltimore.

9 starters out of 44 ... pretty pathetic. Just shows how great New England is when it comes to giving whites a chance.

At least 4 are in caste busting positions, so it's not your typical BAL-PIT match-up.

Also, speaking of returners, last night we had Whalen and Edelman, today we have Decker and Woodhead.

The formation they keep using for Woodhead:
