regarding juninho, he left many great memories in france, he was loved like very few players

Cooper has one year left on his contract that will pay him about $500k. The allocation money allows the Red Bulls to soften the salary cap hit, conceivably to maybe about $300k. After scoring 18 goals, plenty of teams would line up to trade for him at his face value wage, offering draft picks or role players for exchange.

Cooper is on the team until it says otherwise, but until this allocation money came over, it seemed like getting rid of him was inevitable because of salary cap implications. Keep in mind that while $200k/year is minimal elsewhere or to the Red Bulls flagship itself, in the MLS that money stocks another 1-4 players.

If a European club wanted to bid on Cooper, they could do so as usual. If Cooper doesn't sign a new contract by the end of next season, he is free to go anywhere without a transfer fee. If he wishes to stay in MLS, his team has the right to a 'Competitive Bid', meaning that they have first rights to offer a reasonable contract. If New York and two other teams offer him $500k/yr, he has to stay with New York. Should New York not initiate the process with a Competitive Bid, he can go elsewhere for more or less money. If another team bids higher, he can go there with a smile.

The MLS salary cap contains tons of frivolities that are constantly under amendment. At heart, it's in place to keep the smaller-market teams with modest ownership groups at par with wealthy ownership groups such as New York or Los Angeles. Like it or not, every franchise makes a profit these days, which was not always the case.

the problem is that vasco have no money, they didn't pay the wages of their players in the last months, since september
in the rest of the world things regarding the wages are not as clear as they seem to be in the US, they are more obscure
as an example, when juninho signed for vasco in 2011, his wage was the minimal wage in brazil, around 300 dollars per month, but obviously that's not exactly what he was paid

i feel ashamed to be french
juninho was a star player
but luyindula is nothing, he just steals a job to an american player
i hate the fact that since the staff is french, they have to buy "french" players

Luyindula's arrival has not been reported by any American news source. I am hoping it is the French press blowing smoke at the behest of this player's agent. Just as Juninho "turned down" the Vasco offer for $3mil/year, I am hoping this bench-warmer "turns down" our $200k/year offer. If he gets $201k in France from leverage, congratulations to his jew agent (and may he collect 6%).

I can't repeat this enough: a few MLS teams could sign fifty foreign players into tryouts. League salary caps, "discovery rules", and whatever other contractual concoctions prevent a free market. MLS teams have been trending non-white because, pure and simple, there are more South American amerindians who are willing to play pro ball into their early 20's for ~$50k/yr, especially in our accommodating country of future benefit pledges. It's a pittance wage for a crowd-performer.

Now that Marquez has been vanquished, the only wish I have for this team is to return Kenny Cooper on Opening Night. The front office is doing their best to replace him so far, but I will hold out hope.
