Although, you may be right that he was a homosexual, he was never a fruit, and was a WW2 vet and a grunt, no rear echelon pogue like most Jews. He was an excellent mayor and helped the city immensely by bringing it back from financial ruin that his predecessors had brought it to.

Yes fighting in that war deserves respect. I meant a fruit in his sexual encoding, not his warrior's heart. I tend to think NYC or more perticularly Manhattan was too rich to die. Unlike say Detroit. The rich never fled Manhattan around Central Park. The poor and lower middle class had the rest of Manhattan until gentrification.

He was mayor of NY from 1977 to 1989 during which time the city became a hellhole of ******* crime, and non-******* crime too. The only thing worse was the black mayor Dinkins that followed him when it reached its absolute nadir. What turned the city around was - as much as I hate him - Giuliani, mayor of NYC from 1994 to 2001. He turned the city around regarding crime. Now the city will probably revert to what it was before.

He brought the city back from financial ruin brought on by his two moronic predecessors, Lindsay (a true bum. had no idea of anything) and Beame (a dem party hack). First thing Koch did was fire 25k city workers - had to be done. Then he defeated (with the people of course) a transit strike. The city was clean and safe during his time in office. It was that world class imbecile, Dinkins who brought the city to its knees in his four years. That's why Guliani was such a good mayor. Even the Jews went against Dinkins. You can't imagine what it was like with that black guy as mayor of NYC. Like I said, Koch was a WW2 combat vet. I disagree with him on Israel of course, but I was talking about his mayorality.

Sorry, Joe, you can't tell me how "clean and safe" NYC was in the Koch years because I was living there AND working there AND working there in all the worst slums of the city in Manhattan and the Bronx and Brooklyn and Queens, right in the belly of the beast, so I know exactly what it was then - stolen cars littering the parks, hordes of negroes descending on cars stopped at red lights, unchecked ******* and "hispanic" crime - like the central park jogger case - and by the way blacks rallied to protest that horror - to protest that blacks were arrested that is! - and white crime too - the Mafia, the Westies - and even vicious Asian crime gangs - a corrupt police department - rampant crime and filth and decay. The only people he helped "by bringing back the city from financial decay" were his fat cat friends.

Winning the Democratic ticket isn't an automatic punched ticket for the mayor's office like it was in the past. The Democrats have lost their strangle hold on White voters who vote less and less on ethnic lines and more and more on socio-economic class. When Tammany Hall was the power broker in New York, Democrat candidates were rubber stamped in because Irish, Italians, Jews and other ethnic groups voted on mass for the Democrats. Now it seems like only lower class Blacks and Latinos with some lower middle class Whites and working class Whites.
