A 35 year old Black man from the USA was visiting Toronto, ON, Canada on a holiday, and close to the Eaton Centre, which is downtown Toronto, is reported to have shouted "F*ck White people! No more White people! Down with White people!" while he began slashing, stabbing, and cutting at various white people with a machete he had in his possession. None of the victims died, but one 30-something White Man is reported as being "seriously injured", and numerous White people were attacked in the incident.
An Asian witness to the attack, Terence Yip, who also happens to work in the media, was a passerby and witnessed the attack. He immediately tweeted that the assailant had shouted "F*ck White people" as he began his attack. Terence tweeted;
"Well just called 911. Black male with a machete and knife attacking a white male, yelling “f--- white people” corner of Bay and Dundas #wtf"
There have been at least 2 or 3 other witnesses that have confirmed that the Black Man said this as he attacked the White people.
Despite several accounts that the Black Man had shouted "F*ck White people" as he proceeded to attack Whites, Toronto Police have refused to confirm whether the attacks were racially motivated, and the Black Man has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault, but has not been charged with a hate crime.
