I remember when the Patriots signed Welker (after he was originally cut by the Chargers prior to Saban wanting to cut him in favor of Marcus Vick going into his second year in Miami. Yes, this was despite playing well...Welker would then go on to break out in his second year in Miami) some clown "journalist" made a ridiculous comment mocking the Patriots signing. Something like this:

"I just can't fathom the idea of the Patriots overpaying like this for an overrated overachieving player of his caliber. Tell me if I'm crazy, but I don't see a small undrafted white WR becoming a difference maker for this team."

This was actually a big time football writer who wrote this for Yahoo, Fox Sports, ESPN or some other big name website. I think finding this quote would be really beneficial to proving that even a future "Pro Bowl" player was almost "black"listed from the league simply for being white. Yes, the cards are always stacked against whites in this CaucasianRivals era of football, even if they would go on to be one of the very best in the league (Pro Bowl WR). Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

Sounds like the comments of a self-loathing/DWF or "Tribesman" writer.

ToughJ was this a white journalist?

I'd bet money on it.

Yeah, he was white. I read this quote online, but it may have been linked from these forums, I don't recall. If it wasn't posted, it was my mistake for not reporting it here. I was probably too disgusted, but now the evidence may be in effect lost. It was one of the worst comments I read, and on top of the clear racial agenda of the comments- the guy turned out to be more than dead wrong!
