For anyone curious about just how rapidly a country can disintegrate despite being tough militarily I would highly recommend the book about Rhodesia

“A handful of hard men” By hannes wessels.

it’s about the Rhodesian special air service. It’s basically like the movie Zulu but much more recent in time. It’s pretty astounding. I suspect most of the people on this forum will appreciate how such a small force had such an incredible string of military success. Of course they were betrayed by the west and South Africa and they lost the political war.


South Africa now faces many of the same problems they did. Karma is a b8tch apparently.

That sounds very interesting, can you tell us few storys from the book? I always found south African and Rhodesian people to be very tough and hardend by life. Thanks.

It basically outlines the military campaign where they were regularly outnumbered 20:1 and would destroy enemy camps killing thousands while losing less than 5 men!!! The sad thing is that their country went from nothing to a first world country and back to nothing. The decline was quite rapid as tearing down is always faster than building up. Still you can’t help but admire these guys.


The odds against them winning any engagement were staggering and yet they did repeatedly


of course the global elites preferred the economy of Robert mugabe. Within a couple of years of handover Zimbabwe suffered a currency collapse and became a basket case.

it’s a very caste football like story. Succeeding against long odds but having the political cards stacked against them.


It’s such a good book you really just need to read it. Ignore the title which admittedly sounds like gay porn
