The Slipknot video you're thinking of, when they're in the house with all the people, is called "Duality". They're still a great band, I don't care how "mainstream" they have become.

Yeah, what's up with that? Why on earth would someone not like a band just because they became popular? If they're good, they're good!

When a band becomes popular, there is a stigma thats gets attached to them, especially in the punk and hardcore scene. The stigma that I am speaking of, is commonly known as "becoming a sellout". A "sellout" in the music industry, is by definition, basically a band or group that signs with a major record-label, to basically make more money. And since the punk and hardcore scene is basically all about smaller record-labels and less-mainstream attention, this basically goes against everything the scene stands for.

To sum it up: When your bands signs with a major record-company for millions of dollars, you basically become a corporate-whore in the eyes of your now "ex-fans". They now view you as "losing touch with your roots". Your band may be making millions, but in exchange, you basically lost all your "punk/hardcore street cred" if you will.

I hope I explained everything thoroughly. A lot of people I try explaining this to, have a tough time following...lolEdited by: Ground Fighter

Like those commie sh*ts, Rage Vs. the Machine. Rolling in the dough from the suburban frat boys, while screaming about capitalism. Nice work if you can get it.

Can't lie though, thinking about 80's music is enough to make me wince. I believe hell on earth for me would be NYC on new years eve with something like "We built this city" or some other mid 80's pop song playing over and over again, and having to listen to Chris Collinsworth comment on the latest black QB prodigy. AHHHH!

Just had to throw another two cents, nothing to do with the origin of this thread though.
But in response to some of the sports in music stuff people wrote. There was a very hardcore band out of MA probably ten years ago, called Grimlock. They had a song, probably even a video called "24" which was about Bob Probert. And the beginning of the song had a clip from Don Cherry, the guy from hockey night in Canada saying some funny stuff about not messing with Bob Probert.
the lyrics went like this.

24 the number
24 the steel
24 the champion

Probert is king
Probert is King
PROBERT IS KING

Or something like that.
Crazy.

Sorry to kill the thread. Just wanted to drop that info.

You didn't kill the thread at all. Its about music, so say whatever you want.

. The band "Grimlock" from Mass. sounds really familiar, and I like the lyrics about Bob Probert as he is on of my favorite NHL enforcers of all-time.

The bands "Blood for Blood" and "Slapshot" are both from Boston, they have probably played shows with Grimlock at some point. "Blood for Blood" are one of my favorite bands, and a LOT of...ahem..."proud White people" show up at their shows, if you catch my drift.

Thats pretty wierd when you think about it...two harcore bands from Mass., and both are somehow related to hockey. Works for me.

Hey man, if you want, email your addy and I'll send you a dub of the cd. They've got another song on there with simply the most insane double bass drumline you've ever heard. These guys were badasssss.

Funny when you look at the picture of them though, they all look like 125 pounds, like they never ate a steak in their lives. But if they like hockey and play that kind of music, they're allright by me.

Can't say I listen to much of that style of music a whole lot anymore. Had Clutch in the cd on the way home from work but don't get too much heavier than that anymore. Never would have thunk it. Guess I'm getting old.

Now I'm big into bluegrass. I'll play that very loudly in my car when I'm driving by the "hood" or whatever. Nothing better than a fiddle and a banjo to show pride in one's heritage. :)

The "hood", huh? Then you would have a field-day in my neighborhood. lol. My block is mostly hispanic, so when summertime rolls around, so the only music you hear blasting out of backyards during BBQ's, is that cha-cha spanish-music and some occasional rap. Except for my yard. I do my best to piss off every minority neighbor of mine, by blasting as much punk, metal, and hardcore, during my little "summertime get-togethers", as possible. If I am in a "giving" mood that day, I'll play some less-controversial material, such as Skynard or maybe some Zepplin. Around here, cops don't really care about little things like noise complaints, so you're basically left to handle situations like this yourself. In other words...give them what they give you.

Needless to say, I'm a ballbreaker around here. But, I have every right to be, because my family was here FIRST. I'm not going to just sit there like a moron, while friggin' mariachi music is blaring out of the yard next to me at 30 million decibles, during MY 4th of July party! This is still, theoretically, America, although some areas are basically unrecognizable.

Sorry, my post went longer than I had initially planned. I had to vent.

Hey GroundFigher, nice thing about living in Western VA is that there isn't really much of a "hood". YET. We've got the largest percentage of non-English speakers in our schools in the whole Commonwealth though. So, it's just a matter of time. you should see the names of teh babies being born here too. Not too many Matthews' or Johns' as I'd like for sure. So it's just a matter of time.

We are the poultry capital of VA and supposedly no whites would do that work, thus we have to have immigrants coming in. I wonder who that work got done 20 years ago, though. HMMM.

VA state flag has the saying, is "Death to all Tyrants". That's pretty cool. Virginia is still a good place to be.

Ah... Tawny Kaitain! I remember her from the Whitesnake video! She had such a great future ahead of her. Now she is know for hitting her basebal player husband and for numerous run ins with the law.
Her life started going downhill after she slept with O.J. Simpson. Let that be a lesson to all.

Ahhh, Mr. Tornado, I see you are a fan of metal and similar styles of music. I'd post you some links for videos of my favorite band, "Final War", but the Commies who run youtube removed them. lol. They're basically a Pro-White punk/hardcore band from SoCal. They sound exactly like Pennywise, but more "on our side of the fence" politically, if you catch my drift. If you're into that kind of music, check them out. Their debut album is called "We Speak the Truth", and it's so good, it's been in my C.D. player for months.

Ground Fighter I'd love for you to make a list of bands your listening to. Atlanta's not a hot bed for punk hardcore type music.

Yeah, I can imagine that "Hot-lanta" or "the A-T-L" is not exactly a hot-bed for the punk/hardcore scene. lolAs a matter of fact, you have my condolences for the fact that you are probably surrounded by everything "hip-hop" in that city. I feel your pain.

As for the bands I listen to, most of them are kind of a punk/hardcore hybrid. Some are White Nationalist bands and some aren't. Here's some of the bands on my list:

-Final War- Pro-White punk band from Orange County.
-Blood For Blood- Punk band from Boston.
-Throwdown- Hardcore band from Cali.
-Pennywise- Classic skate-punk band from SoCal.
-Chaos 88- Pro-White hardcore band from Atlantic City,NJ.
-Teardown- Pro-White hardcore band from Jersey. They
were formerly the Blue Eyed Devils.
-Agnostic Front- Hardcore band from NYC.
-Skarhead- Insane NY hardcore band.
-E-Town Concrete- I know I'm probably going to catch
heat on this site for liking them, but I grew up
listening to this band.
-Storm Troopers of Death- I swear, this is a real band.
Classic, old-school punk-core, with some subtle,
racial undertones, but nothing extreme.
-Last Resort- British punk/oi band no longer together.

Thats just a short list. If you want some more names or anything else, just ask me.

Last Resort!Love those guys! I got a split Last Resort/Combat 84 album. One of the best albums of all time.

I actually was surprised I could order a Skrewdriver cd on Amazon. So I ordered it. I don't think last year there was anyone selling Skrewdriver there. Maybe there is a market opening up. Not a bad thing.

Hey white Tornado, you've also got to get the Carnivore's "retaliation" cd. that is the guy who started Type O Negative. That cd is probably my favorite of all time. From 1988 or so. Hard ass metal.

Ground Fighter, in the late 80's there used to be a band from up your way called Youth Defense League. Ever heard of them? If so, do you know what ever happened to them? I had a tape of some of their stuff a while ago. But that's been lost. WOuld love to get their demos, 7 "'s or whatever they have.Edited by: cslewis1

Oh man, if you're listening to Combat 84 and Skrewdriver, you're a-O.K. with me.

Also, there are plenty of Pro-White music websites to order merchandise from, so you don't have to go to amazon. Final Stand Records is one of them. Die Hard Records is another. BTW, the best song from the Last Resort is "Violence in Our Minds". Good stuff.

Die Hard records is where this Skrewdriver cd is coming from. Mega Dittos to them. I am surprised Amazon let's it through. We'll see how long it lasts. But the door is open.

There was/is a band called Bound For Glory who had an Oi! sound a while back, but then they went metal. Normally, I don't like that change. But man, they were bad f'ing ass.Don't know if they're still around, but highly recommend BOund For Glory for metal, anti-casters.

Yeah, there has been a big push to ban "hate music" during the past few years. Liberals and anti-racists would love nothing more than to see Pro-White music made illegal. But a little thing called "The First Amendment" stands in their way.

I stopped watching MTV back in 1995 when they took Headbangers Ball off the air. I remember back when MTV would play Motley Crue, Yngwie Malmsteen, Ratt, Michael Schenker Group, Def Leppard all on a regular basis. That was back when MTV stood for Music TV, not Monkey TV. Now MTV has morphed into a subterfuge of reality programming mixed with black urban culture that has almost nothing to do with music at all. I think that is why i show such contempt for it

This topic got me to start listening to some of the music I listened to in the past.
One key fact of heavy metal music is how opitmistic it is. If some stupid with a flare gun burns down the hall, don't give up. Just record your album at the grand hotel! Woman are treated decently. Listen to how Motley Crue praises strippers in "Girls, Girls, Girls." A rap "artist" would be talking about slapping the hoes with his 9mm.

Do today's younsters have any happy music?
