Watching that team is like watching pee-wee football to me.

They should do a show on some Texas teams....but oh wait...to many black players there.

The way that team got decimated by a running quarterback from Tuscaloosa was hilarious. In Texas, 8 out of 10 teams have QBs like that and better players overall.

My school, LaMarque High School, currently has 4 NFL players who were drafted in the last 4 years.

I doubt Hoover has any. They are not that good. They would get beat by any team in our district.

Pathetic that they get national television exposure. But I guess white-bread kiddy stories are more interesting to most of you than real football players who live hard lives.

But I think that Hoover's defensive back Alex Binder has some talent and could go far if he wants to.

Dwam "Repete" Smith is talented too and those are two players I hope to follow as the years go bye.

I don't in some ways see this show as racist, I just don't like the drama that the players have to put with off the field.

Do you think I really give two s@#$^ about some crazy ass high school chicks?

I was in high school and I know how crazy and psycho high school chicks are and I don't need a refresher course from MTV.

I don't know, in the limited action i have seen, I see very little real talent on the team. True college prospects are generally dominant on the high school level, and I don't see alot of dominance. Of course, they do show very little actual game action, so it is hard to see.

highschool girls don't usually really act like that, at least not in most places, hoover may be an exception but i doubt it. i'm sure a lot of the drama is hyped up for camera. maybe they just get really bored in alabama so they have a hissy fit over any excuse they can find (like how mtv portrays is) or maybe it just makes better television. the drama doesn't really bother me but i'm sure at least half of the people that watch this only watch it for the drama so mtv has to keep the #s up by giving them more to argue about. i don't even really get football (never have, too confusing for my liking!) but i still enjoy watching the football parts. my sister, for example, likes the girl drama and wishes they wouldn't show so much football. just how you wanna view it i guess

Chad Jackson from Florida just got drafted by the Patriots, he slipped to the second round, but still pumped out a 4.32 at the combine. He went to Hoover!

I agree with you though, more overall talent in Texas by far!
However, don't question that it has anything to do with race, because you obviously haven't been to many places in Alabama if you think that it is mostly white!

yeah I get what your saying, but I would also blame a little bit of that on MTV for mainly profiling the white players and just throwing in Repete so no one cries foul about anything. I kind of also think that if Ross never gets hurt, you never really hear that much about Cornelius!

It is always best to do your homework. Hoover high school has 2000+ students/9-12. 80% white, 12% black, 5% asian and 3% mexican. The state average is:62% wht, 35% blk, <1% asian, and 2% mexican. I do believe that there is a little bit of Reggie White in all of us(I hope that most of you know what I am talking about) when it comes to the differences in races. I hate the "celebrate diversity" bumper sticker but believe in the spirit of the meaning. Texas H.S football is good, not because of the color but because everthing in Texas is bigger. I have seen all white teams beat all black teams and blk teams beat wht. Remember that most of what you believe is from your experiences.

Punches n bunches or is his name (Racist n Ignorant) rant all you like about how unfortunate poor black guys never get a break. Has this character ever seen the racial makeup of the NFL.I thinks blacks are getting more than enough in the NFL. Before he says "that makes my point" remember that it is the good white player that gets overlooked by insitutional racism in the NCAA and the NFL.

Last year Mike Hass a white wide reciever who plays for Oregon St. was by far the best WR in college football. Hass won the Biletnikoff Award for the best WR in all of college ball. Many black WRs were chossen before him in this year's NFL draft. Some say because they are a little taller, Hass is 6'1. Some say they are faster. Hass tested as the fasted WR in the NFL Combine. Hass was faster than 26 black wide recievers. The insitutional racism which flows through the NFL and college teams is like a cancer. Whatever happen to being judged by your playing ability and talent over your race.

If you look at high school football in Texas, you will see that the mostly white teams win the majority of the state championships in their respective divisons. While there are many talented black players from Texas and other states, I believe that Texas has a number of talent white players as well. The top QB prospect form Texas last year was a white guy named Jevan Snead who is now playing at Texas. Maybe Mack Brown does not know how to pick good QBs. Oh wait a minute Mack Brown brought in a black guy named Vince Young and he also had pretty good white QBs as well. Remember Chris Simms.According to the racist who started this thread Jevan Snead is just a white kiddie, maybe a little white boy. Maybe we are all wrong and he is superior in his stupidity. Or just maybe we can judge people on their talent and not on their race. Just remember bunches of crap that the "eyes of white Texas are upon you".

MTV knows its audience and the desired demographics of the MTV viewers. This is about football and a soap opera. Football is just part of the story. If MTV is racist then isn't BET more racist after making a show based around Vince Young who is just one player and black. There are no white players in that show!

OK patna....first off, I'm white. Get off the racist *beep* This thread was about football and the quality of it.

Yes I do have an issue with the show and how it primarily focuses on the white players and families. But, that happens to be my opinion. Isn't that something we can all have?

Also, BET is Black Entertainment, so I would assume the show would be about a black football player.

And I attended LaMarque high school during my years there and played linebacker. We were, and still are, pretty damn good.

And I know who Jevan Snead is. Don't talk to me like I don't know football. Believe me I do.
Don't tell me you think Mike Haas will become a great NFL receiver. It ain't happening. I don't care how fast he is.

So your were a linebacker. Surely anyone with the talent to play linebacker at a Texas high school could make it on a crappy team like Syracuse. As far as being white, so what. So you are white. I guess you can still hate on your race. You may have a self loathing of your fellow caucasians deep within your intermediate, lower neron psychy. Perhaps your are unable to rationalize your inner rage towards not making the team, or being dumped by your cheerleader girlfriend.

Indeed I would expect BET to do a show on Vince Young (a good college QB) yet untested in the NFL. If Vince Young does not have a good offense built around him even he may not be a good NFL QB. "It ain't happening". I don't care how good of a QB he was in college. Vince will need good receivers around him like the white Drew Bennet. Oh, Drew Bennet another great white athlete
who played QB and is a awesome receiver. As to MTV focusing on the white players. If you check the Nielsen Ratings Satistics on MTV. You will find that MTV's viewers are mainly young and white. Yes non-white people also watch MTV, but a much larger portion of their viewership is young, suburban, white kids.
"Two A Days" is a show about football players and thier lives. Get it. Thier lives off the football field. MTV is focusing on the white guys because the viewers can relate to them.

If Vince Young is never put in a game and given a chance then we may never know if he can be a big stud QB in the NFL. The same can be said for Mike Hass. Given the chance to run back some kicks and we shall see what he can do.

Do not preach to others on your knowledge of football. You would be suprised at the number of people here who have much more expirence in the game than yourself. If you played football you should understand team effort so take a humble pill and chill out. Texas is not that differnt from Alabama. I have respect for high school football teams from both states.

Mike Hass is currently residing on the Chicago Bears Practice Squad. The best reciever in the nation, with good size, great hands, and who was raved about in training camp by the New Orleans saints, can only make the practice squad of an NFL team? Furthermore, past winners of the award have all recieved ample oppurtunity, including being drafted in the 1st/2nd round of the draft.

The Mike Hass story is sad but very common in football in today's so-called enlighten world. I have noticed that Hoover guys, Ross and Alex are both turning to baseball instead of football. Why should white guys even bother to play football anymore when they know that thier backs are against the wall. These high school players see Mike Hass have complete sucess in High School, and College only to have the door close on him in th NFL.

A similer thing happened to running back Brock Forsey. Forsey was one of the absoult best RBs in college football. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears and when he played he was awesome having several 100-yard games and numerous touch downs. When the Bears brought in a black coach (lovie smith) he quickly dismissed Forsey's talent and dumped him. The Bears dumped their best running back in several years. Lovie Smith's reaction to Forsey was and I quote,
"When I saw him I thought he was the equipment manager, he did not look like a football player to me". Completely racist and demeaning.

So Alex, Ross why bother when most college coaches and NFL teams will not give you a fair chance, because of your race!! At least "Two A Days" gives these good white football players some positive exposer.

Drew Bennett is 6' 5".

And why do you have to go and try and analyze me rather than keep the discussion in the realm of what it is actually about? Because you have very little of substance to say?

I think it is you that has the complex here.

Hoover has a great team. Alex, Ross, Corneillus and Repete are all very respectiable players. It would be hard to say how they would match up to the best football teams in ohio or texas , because they never will play eachother. So it is very hard if not imposible to say who is the best high school football team in the country.

As for the coach well, he is just a typical high school football coach. Some coaches use this type of coaching to motivate players. Hoover's sucess is mostly do to the leadership ability of the coach. Players come and go. Some go on to play at Auburn or Texas and some go on to Syracuse with their complex and never play again. The coach stays and builds up his next winning team.

Hoover football is hardly "pee-wee football" and "white bread kiddie stories" as expressed by the guy who started this topic.

as you can see in this thread there are at least several users that are well aware of the casste system. we are not as alone as we think we are! i haven't posted there as i don't post much on imdb and those guys seem to be doing pretty well fighting this battle

"redstone" is not his real name, that should tell us something. Besides MTV has a profit motive and one other motive its homo grooming purpose. While it is non-stop in its having young white hottie chicks doing the announcing they never seem to rid themselves of those two old chickenhawks who do the MTV News.

Yes!They started out the devil. And as they've become more and more obsessed with shoving more and more black "music"/"artists" and "culture" in Whitey's face,it has totally sunk all the way down to the bottom, down to the 9th Circle, where it not only has been for years,it will stay there, forever.
