Morne Nagel

Morne Nagel is another sprinter to keep an eye on out
of South Africa. Yes he is a white sprinter.He was the
fastest man in the world indoors in 2002.He never lost
a race over 60 meters.His only tie was to the steroid
juiced up world record holder Tim Montgomery.Morne ran
under 6.50 around 5 times that year.He also has ran a
10.13 a few times in the 100.He has all of the tools
necessary.He just has to stay healthy and get hungry
like he was a couple of years ago.I expect him to have
a huge break through season this year.Watch out for
Nagel in 2005.

ironic would it be for a South African Sprinter to be
the first to go sub 10 in the 100!It could happen this
year.

He is the South Afican record holder at 200 with a 20.11.

Morne Nagel is also the South African 60 meters Record
Holder with multiple runs of 6.48 seconds.That is only
9/100's of a second off the world record.This guy can
flat out fly and is one of the quickest guys out of the
starting blocks that you will ever see!Good luck to him
this Friday.

Nagel won another race today in a time of 6.60.He beat
a sprinter from Nigeria.Nagel will race again this
weekend back in South Africa at both 60 & 100 meters.
He feels very healthy and is putting up fast times
with realitive ease.

That is incredible.They have the best 4 x 400 team in
the world and from a small country with nothing but
white guys on the team.I thought white guys couldn't
run.Yeah right and I got some ocean front property in
Arizona that I will sell you.All of their runners at the
400 meters are world class.Should be a great track
season.

Morne Nagel who just got back to South Africa won in his
very first race back on Saturday.He ran a excellent
20.72 outdoors int the 200.That is a very good time for
this point of the season.I still think he has never even
come close to reaching his potential in the 100! I really
hope that he puts up some good times this season!

What a incredible night for Morne Nagel on Friday.He had
his best races in years in terrible conditions.It was
very windy but he still pulled off the double victory.
He won the 100 into a -3.1 wind in a incredible time of
10.27!That would be in the 10.00-10.10 range with out
the wind.Then later on,Nagel won the 200 meters in a
time of 20.34.He said he felt really strong and it

The 10.27 that Nagel ran into that horrible wind
translates into a 10.04 100 meters!That would have
been a new p.b. It's too bad that it was such horrible
weather conditions but I congratulate him on a
incredible win.He races again this weekend and with
the right weather & a good start,look out.Maybe if he
can maintain his form he will run a new personal best!

Not to bring it up again but this Friday we could see
Nagel possible be the first to run a sub 10 in the 100
meters! I have a weird feeling that he will either do
it or come really close on Friday.That is one of the
last big races of the year in South Africa where he
lives.The crowd will be sold out and they will be going
crazy.It just might happen and if it does,Nagel will be
