MLB is 64.5 percent white according to current "active" rosters. Keep in mind that rosters may change as the year progresses. Here is the racial breakdown of each team according to race. For the purposes of this discussion I break only have broken down the racial categories into two groups. White and Ethnic. Whites are those that are caucasian not of hispanic decent unless the individual appears to me overwhelmingly white ex: blond hair, blue eyes, caucasian facial features.

Feel free to check my work at MLB.com. All players accounted for in this servey come from the debth charts on the MLB website. The 40 man rosters were not used for this servey because many of the players on the 40 man rosters are considered to be inactive meaning that they will likely not appear in any games over the course of the season. Most inactive players will reamain in the "Farm Leagues" unless or until they are called upon by their respective team.
Once again, these rosters will change as the season progresses. You will notice that some teams do not have as many players as others do. MLB rules state that a team may have anywhere from 20 to 36 players on the active roster at any given point in the season giving ball clubs some flexibility.
