In the first start of his career, redshirt freshman quarterback Mitch Leidner rushed the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers to a 43-24 victory over San Jose State University. The Lakeville native scored four touchdowns and ran for 151 yards in Minnesota’s final non-conference game of the season.
Leidner may be the best running quarterback in college football that I have seen this year. He runs with power and natural ability. He is a Minnesota boy too! He's only played one game but I am excited to see more of him.
I was impressed with him yesterday. It wil be interesting to see what they do when Phil Nelson comes back who Is a dual threat as well. Both these guys need carries. Imagine if they had the balls to recruit Zenner thatd be a fun offense to watch
