Rookie fourth round linebacker Miles Burris might be this year's Colin McCarthy, who was picked in the fourth round last year by Tennessee and ended up playing great when he started for an injured Barrett Ruud at MLB midway through the 2011 season.

Burris's competition at WLB is colossal bust Aaron Curry (the "safest pick" in the 2009 NFL Draft according to the draft "experts," the same "experts" who proclaimed colossal bust Brian Robiskie the "most NFL ready wide receiver" in that same draft). Curry came down with an injury on the first day of training camp and was put on the PUP list, giving Burris a real opportunity to be a starter to open the season.

I agree with your take on Burris. He was a great defensive playmaker at San Diego State, and a draft steal in the fourth round. But that's what happens when you are melanin-deficient. Of course, the article is rife with caste-speak, such as "high energy", "high motor", "smart", and my favorite, "opportunistic"! That's why he succeeds, according to the pundits, since he can't have black-only traits such as "explosive", "dynamic", etc.

As for Curry, I remember the draft gurus said that the the Chiefs would take him, but they instead opted for another colossal bust, Glenn Dorsey

Although I don't get too caught up in measureables at combines, Burris's combine numbers were very similar if not better than Curry's. Curry ran his 40 time at the NFL Combine where as Burris did not, probably the only glaring difference; Curry 4.52, Burris 4.67 at his pro-day. Other than that all other numbers were virtually the same, except Burris had a slightly higher vertical 37.5, ran a 6.81 3-cone to Curry's 7.15 and Burris ran a 4.20 short shuttle; to Curry's 4.51! Burris's BP 31 reps to Curry's 25!

Oh well, I guess that's the difference in a 1st round and a 4th round selection.

Amazingly, Curry's 40 time was virtually the same as his 20 yd. shuttle. I see this alot at combines, where many players run a good 40 only to be really slow moving side to side.

While Burris's 3-cone and short shuttle are excellent at 6'1, 246lbs.!

Burris continues to start at outside linebacker for the Raiders, and this past Sunday moved over to MLB on nickel packages, replacing Rolando McClain. McClain is a first round pick who is close to bust status and is also a fine gentleman off the field who last year pulled a gun on someone and then fired it just inches from his head. Burris will likely be yet another White tackling machine if he gets moved inside on a permanent basis.

Aaron Curry, the 4th overall pick of the 2009 draft and drooled over by the media and draft "experts" as a surefire instant NFL superstar, was waived by the Raiders after flopping in Seattle. This solidifies Burris's starting spot and hopefully he'll be in the middle by next season, replacing another first round bust, Rolando McClain.

Miles had 13 tackles yesterday, 7 of which were solo. He seems to be yet another White tackling machine like Greenway, Laurinaitis and Posluszny.

If convinced that if the NFL was a meritocracy, 90%+ of the middle linebackers would be White men.

Yet Pro Football Focus has Burris rated as the worst 4-3 outside linebacker in the league. I'd like to know how they come up with their "ratings." Sounds a lot like the way Rivals and Scout regularly find a way to demean White high school football players in their scouting reports.

Pro Football Focus claims that tackles are an overrated statistic which to me is absurd. Stopping the ball carrier is the goal of the defense and it's done by tackling.

I've noticed that with Luke Kuechly looking like a dominant tackling machine all of a sudden the anti-white media claims that tackles aren't important anymore. Ridiculous.

Miles Burris had 96 tackles his rookie year. I'd take a guy like that on my team anytime. There's no way he's the worst outside linebacker in the league.

I wonder if PFF had Curry rated higher than Burris.

Burris was just cut by Oakland. MLB needy teams should be all over this guy! But he's white so the brothers get the first look. It's only "fair".

Burris had 110 tackles last year and he gets cut. Burris is very athletic.

A smart team would pick Burris up. The Packers could use an inside linebacker.

Despite his productivity, Burris was always ranked as supposedly the worst starting inside linebacker in the league by the mysterious system used by Pro Football Focus, which is now deferred to when it comes to ranking NFL players the way the Southern Poverty Law Center is by the media when it comes to race and politics. Pro Football Focus seems like the pro version of the "scouting services" that systematically rank black high school football players higher than equally talented White ones.

I really don't understand how someone can outproduce most of his peers and yet somehow still "stink" to the point that he's discarded months before training camp. Maybe Burris doesn't flash enough "hip torque" when he's making tackles.
