It looks like Mikkel Kessler will be fighting Andre Ward in November in the Showtime super middleweight tournament.

Kessler will fight his mandatory Perdomo next, probably on Sep 12, and then fight Ward in November:

Kessler will dominate Ward. Abraham will also dominated Taylor. Froch needs to be careful and not give away too many rounds like he did with Taylor. He can't always rely on his power to bail him out at the end of fights.

Kessler is a monster in the ring. His only loss is to one of the greatest fighters ever in Joe Calzaghe. That is nothing to be ashamed of and he only lost by 4 points on all the judges cards.

Everyone is ducking Kessler. He tried to get a fight with Hopkins and Hopkins declined. Hopkins said Kessler is a nobody when he was making his racist comments at Calzaghe. The truth is Hopkins doesn't want another loss to a white guy. Destroying this joke of a fighter Ward will put Kessler on the map in the US.
Showtime has set this fight up deliberatly. Three supposed superstar american blacks against three great European fighters. Guess who the media and everyone will be rooting for? I can guarentee you it will not be Kessler, Froch, or Abraham.Edited by: whiteathlete33

WA33, your right the motivaiton of the Juden is precisely what you say. A "hope" that an affelet will win the Super Six tornament, a Thread that I posted earlier. I should have know of their true intentions. But in today's age of boxing, they are going to go home sad and frustrated.

Kessler is the best athlete of the six, Froch probably has the most power, and Abraham has the most heart. I think they will do just fine.

Now it's less than two weeks until Kessler fights undefeated Andre Ward in Ward's hometown of Oakland.
If the fight were in Europe, I would be 100% confident Kessler would win. However, I think he may need a KO to win in Oakland. The home referee may be biased against him too. It's an extremely difficult time adjustment - he may feel he's fighting at 5 am, the time of the fight in his home country Denmark.
It's easier for a North American to adjust to fighting in Europe, because your body just feels you are fighting in the afternoon instead of the evening, a time you would normally be sparring anyway.
He arrived on Nov 1, so hopefully he'll have enough time to make the adjustment to the Pacific Time Zone. It worse going from Europe to fight in Oakland (Pacific Time Zone) than New York or Philadelphia(Eastern Time Zone) because there's an additional three hour difference.

I was going to say that.  Kessler arrived three weeks before the fight so I think that is enough time.  After all Dirrell arrived like a week before the fight and did fine.  With Valuev "losing" to Haye we need this win.

It's better to have a 5 AM "body clock"fight than a "midnight" fight. I agree that he'll have to either dominate, or better yet, get the KO to overcome the biased judging. Look at the Haye-Valuev tilt, Valuev should have won, but being the slower, non-flashy (white) fighter, he came out behind on the scorecards, even though he should have been comfortably ahead.

Valuev was robbed.  Boxing is a crooked sport and I am sure Don King had something to do with the scoring.  The guy is a racist lunatic.  Now the arrogant Haye has one of the heavyweight belts.  He will be able to fight weak opposition like John Ruiz for now.  In order for him to become the Ring champion and be recognized as the true heavyweight champion he will have to go through Wladimir.  Your time is coming Haye.  Don't you worry.  You will be knocked out and shut up for good!

Here is a message from WBA Super-Middleweight Champion Mikkel Kessler ahead of his November 21 Super Six World Boxing Classic clash with Andre Ward:
Dear fans,
I have been in Sacramento for one week now and so far everything is working out the way it should. The training facilities are great â€" and I am also very happy about the level of my sparring partners in the ring. I truly believe that the level of the sparring is one of the key elements for a good performance and proper preparation. The more your sparring resembles your actual opponent, the better the chance that you will actually beat him in the ring.
Previously in my career I have experienced some bad sparring partners before important bouts â€" fighters who didn't have the skills in the ring. Therefore my team and I have worked hard on finding some tough fighters with similar boxing skills and tactics as Andre Ward. Fortunately Otis Griffin, Eric Regan and Mike Alexander have so far shown really good skills in the ring â€" and they have all been great sparring partners.
On top of that, two of them have been sparring with Ward during the last couple of years â€" hopefully their input from their training sessions with him will give me and my coaches a valuable tactical idea about the fighter Andre Ward.
I would love to tell you a little bit about Sacramento but to be honest I have not had the time to explore the city as a tourist yet. So far I dedicate all my time to training, eating and resting. Hopefully the last week before the fight in San Francisco will give me an opportunity to discover the American culture and the great views of the city.
At the moment I am working on attending an American sports event, like a NFL or NBA game.
Experience has taught me that it is important to occupy your brain with something different than boxing when you are not in the gym â€" that makes your concentration in the ring even better. Talk to you soon!
