It's beyond time to start a message thread for the teenage superstar from Oregon. She just broke her own State High School Sprinting Record
and is way faster than Marion Jones was in high school just to put this into perspective. We are witnessing high school track history! Way to go Mia!

At the 2023 USATF Outdoor Championships we saw a glipse of the future today. Mia Brahe Pedersen who is still in high school ran the 5th
fastest time of all the heats to qualify and move on the 2nd round. She has a chance to make the World Championships representing the
US and this young lady has no fear running a sensational time of 11.05 today! Let's hope she can keep lighting the track on fire!

Amazing! It was nice seeing 3 whites in the final of the 200m.

Mia Brahe-Pedersen has a level 2 hamstring strain. She injured it in January.

Here's a recent article on Mia Brahe-Pedersen.
She's about 90% recovered from her hamstring injury and says her goals for this season are pretty simple:
“Break as many records as possible and make as much history as possible.”

a real shame, especially in the context of the above clip which indicated her body was very tolerant of a heavy workload, one of the best attributes for a sprinter. So no more high school records for her, but here's to a complete recovery and a great 2025

Hamstrings are a bitch! Even if you rehab them back to 100% there is always a little doubt/worry in your mind everytime you sprint.

my favourite Aussie sprinter, Damien Marsh from the 1990s, said the same about his achilles injury. He said in hindsight he would have had psychological treatment. He was down to unofficial sub 10.10s during his U.S, training stint before the achilles let him down. He never ever ran well again saying there was always a worry it would go again if he ran fast - the pain and down time was something he didn't want again

I agree on the Achilles as well, I have struggled with both during my masters career and it is very frustrating...

that's a reason I came back to throws. Still very much in a learning curve for all 5 throws events though having started 3 of them only this season
