On this afternoon's broadcast they were discussing how Peyton Manning is the most hyped and most talked about professional athlete in sports today. He has the stats but hasn't won the 'big one' yet, and hasn't proven himself under pressure.

No mention of the REAL most-hyped person in sports today, Mike Vick, nor of his other choke-artist companion Donovan McNabb.

I want Peyton to win the Super Bowl just so they'll shut up and quit ridin' his ass. Its getting old, especially when you consider they rarely EVER criticize black quarterbacks the same way. Those guys are always 'in development,' or get this - beaten by the weather. Yeah, that was the latest excuse today - Vick played so poorly because of the cold weather. Funny, there were plenty of other players running around without long underwear, I didn't see Rex "I've played in six games" Grossman complaining about the weather, or the rookie Kyle Orton, complaining about the weather.

Could it be (Heaven Forbid!) that Vick just isn't that GOOD?

Vick simply was too cold to function. 

I'm sorry, scrub Vick gets no slack for his bad performance. All week long all I heard about was how Vick went to Green Bay and did what no other QB has been able to do. The media played up his ability to play in cold weather all week. There were a lot of black players functioning on the field just fine last night.

What happened was the Bears defense was too good for Vick to function.

I guess if the media would just shut up I would pay about as much attention to Vick as I do to Aaron Brooks. I think I'm venting more about the media hype over Vick than I am about Vick himself.

If I had the time I would look up Vick's stats based on the quality of the defense in relation to other QB's who have played against the same defense. For example, the week before Big Ben was 10-15, 149 yards and one rushing TD against Chicago. Vick was 13-32, 122 yards and 2 INT's. Most of Vick's yards were at the end of the 4th quarter when the Bears were giving up free yardage.I doubt Vick threw for 50 meaningful yards.

Vick is terrible! Absolutely pitiful! How bad is he? He can't even throw the ball 15 yards accurately. I wish we had a highlight reel of every one of Vick's passes this year. Every single pass he's made strung together for full effect. It would suddenly become very clear that most college QB's can throw the ball better than him. Should I even mention that he has no pocket presence what so ever. He is more than likely the least intelligent QB in the NFL.

It may not bother some people, like yourself, that Vick is the highest paid QB in the league, but here at Caste Football we have a problem with affirmative action and the Caste system draining the life out of the white athlete.

Last year Vick was voted to the Pro Bowl even though he had the 26th worst passer rating in the NFL. The NFL is so hard up to make a success out of this loser they don't care how hard they slap their white fans in the face.

This year Vick is rated 27th in passer rating. Ahead of him are media whipping boys Kyle Boller, Eli Manning and Trent Dilfer. Then there are the young QB's who get no press at all like Chris Simms and David Carr. Vick is the only QB in the bottom 5 that is on a winning team. But every time the Falcons are on national TV, we get inundated with Vick praise from every possible angle. Even Manning and Brady combined don't get the gushing of praise that Vick gets.

So stop making excuses for this media creation and start seeing the big lie that is right in front of you.

And as to your first comment. No, I cannot do what Vick does. That is, play QB in the NFL. But I will take him on in a football throwing contest anyday.

The top NFL QB's all get the attention they deserve. Manning, Brady, Brees all get alot of attention..How can you say they don't. Mi..... Vi.. went to the playoffs last year due to a very good defense
(sound similar to Philadelphia?) Atlanta has a few decent white
players that came to the team right around the same time as Vi..
The Falcons will go the way of the Do Do bird soon enough due to free
agency, injuries, etc. leaving only M.V. to carry the water.

Brian Finneran was the only highlight for the Falcons last Sunday. No one mentioned him, I don't think.

The Falcon's just missed the super Bowl Last year and have been a winning team every year since Vick has been there. Now is he the best QB in the league--NO..top ten--YES.

That is like saying the Bears are going to the playoffs because of their QB.

During the course of his career, Michael Vick always has been known as a do-it-all threat. But even by his mind-boggling standards, the Atlanta Falcons quarterback might be pushing the boundaries a bit with his latest business endeavor.


Top overall pick in the 2001 draft. The league's most electrifying individual performer. A three-time Pro Bowl selection. Nike pitchman. Philanthropist. World-class athlete. One of the NFL's highest-paid players. And now, Michael Vick, uh, player agent?


OK, the last element might be overstating the case a bit. But ESPN.com has learned that Vick is a principal partner and investor in RCS Sports, a recently created representation agency that is actively soliciting prospects for the 2006 NFL draft, and in MV7, which will market the company's clients.


It is a new foray for Vick but, given that he has had four agents already in a relatively short career, the Falcons star certainly has some perspective on the business.


"He's very involved," Damien Butler, the primary agent for RCS Sports, told ESPN.com this week. "It's more than just lending his name to the company. Michael is meeting with prospective clients. He's sitting down with players and explaining to them what we are going to be about. So, yeah, he's involved with recruiting and getting the word out. This isn't just some [lark]. We intend to be a big-time agency. We're going to be a big player in the business in a pretty short time."


The amiable and articulate Butler is certified by the NFL Players Association, which accredits "contract advisors," and previously worked with a Houston-based firm. He met Vick through the quarterback's financial adviser, Michael Smith, and in their subsequent conversations, the two men found they shared a philosophy about representing athletes in a professional and thorough manner, with the client's best interests uppermost.


Asked about Vick's financial stake in the firm, Butler referred to the Falcons quarterback as a "silent partner." How any financial investment by Vick jibes with prevailing NFLPA guidelines seems to be a gray area. There are fiduciary lines that cannot be crossed, and potential conflict of interest issues might be raised, but it does not appear that Vick is in violation of them, according to the union.


Indeed, earlier this year, New England Patriots linebacker Willie McGinest entered into a business relationship with his longtime representative, Gary Uberstine, and rapper Snoop Dogg to form a sports agency. There are rampant rumors that a onetime All-Pro running back is supplying financial wherewithal to a Southeast-based agent to enhance the profile of his firm. Butler emphasized that, for Vick, the bottom line isn't nearly as important as ensuring that clients receive solid representation and good career advice.


The way the firms have been established, RCS Sports will be responsible for contracts and negotiations and MV7 will be more concerned with marketing efforts.


"What's most important to Michael," Butler said, "is that kids aren't taken advantage of, or get bad advice. I mean, in terms of marketing, you look at Michael's case. There were some poor deals done when he was coming out of college. I'm sure the people who first represented him, Octagon, are still involved in litigation over some of those marketing deals. What Michael wants to see is that players don't fall prey to some of the bad things going on out there. He's not nearly as concerned with the bottom line as he is assuring that players are lined up with the right people. He's very well-intentioned in this."


Butler was not prepared to identify the firm's clientele yet but said that, after the college bowl games, there will be a news release detailing the players who have signed on with RCS Sports and MV7. The firm is said to be ardently recruiting Virginia Tech star Jimmy Williams, regarded by most scouts as the top cornerback prospect in the 2006 draft. And, of course, it's expected it will represent Hokies standout quarterback Marcus Vick when the younger brother of the Falcons star is eligible for the draft.


"Seeing that Marcus gets the right kind of guidance, as you can guess, is very important to Michael," Butler said. "But he wants to extend that beyond just family. Given much of the marketing experiences Michael has had, he already has important relationships and tie-ins, and that is part of our foundation."


Whether or not Vick eventually becomes involved in actually representing clients in the negotiation process once his NFL career is completed remains to be seen. That role is something the Falcons star and Butler have discussed only in generalities.


"It is certainly something that would broaden his horizons when he is finished as a player in the league," Butler said. "But that's a long way off. I will say this: Michael wants to be more than just a name in this undertaking."

Vick got defensive when asked if teams have figured out how to contain him, especially the stingy opponents he faced in the second half of the season. The Falcons finished up with five games against the league's top three defenses, losing at Chicago and twice each to division rivals Tampa Bay and Carolina.


"It's not just Mike Vick," he insisted. "I've got other players around me, other people around me - coaches who are supposed to do everything in their power to put everyone in the offense in a better position. It's not just me."

Welcome to the board. No you weren't hallucinating, the white guy always gets fired when the black guys don't produce. Remember it is always "whitey's" fault!

I hear the NFL is going to institute a "NO QB LEFT BEHIND" program based on the succesful

federal shcool program. All teams that have underacheiving black QB's will have to arrange for massive tutoring of the players until they can raise their QB rating scores to the level of their white counterparts. Any team that fails to do this will be at fault (it can't be the fault of the players of course) and will have to fire and hire to correct the problem.
