It's too bad, if the allegations are true, that Mel didn't give his views intelligentlyin a sober state rather than after being arrested for drunken driving. Twill be interesting to see what the effects are of this, both short-term and long-term.

Gibson's Anti-Semitic Tirade -- Alleged Cover Up

TMZ has learned that Mel Gibson went on a rampage when he was arrested Friday on suspicion of drunk driving, hurling religious epithets. TMZ has also learned that the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department had the initial report doctored to keep the real story under wraps.

TMZ has four pages of the original report prepared by the arresting officer in the case, L.A. County Sheriff's Deputy James Mee. According to the report, Gibson became agitated after he was stopped on Pacific Coast Highway and told he was to be detained for drunk driving Friday morning in Malibu. The actor began swearing uncontrollably. Gibson repeatedly said, "My life is f****d." Law enforcement sources say the deputy, worried that Gibson might become violent, told the actor that he was supposed to cuff him but would not, as long as Gibson cooperated. As the two stood next to the hood of the patrol car, the deputy asked Gibson to get inside. Deputy Mee then walked over to the passenger door and opened it. The report says Gibson then said, "I'm not going to get in your car," and bolted to his car. The deputy quickly subdued Gibson, cuffed him and put him inside the patrol car.

TMZ has learned that Deputy Mee audio taped the entire exchange between himself and Gibson from the time of the traffic stop to the time Gibson was put in the patrol car. And that the tape fully corroborates the written report.

Once inside the car, a source directly connected with the case says Gibson began banging himself against the seat. The report says Gibson told the deputy, "You mother f****r. I'm going to f*** you." The report also says "Gibson almost continually [sic] threatened me saying he 'owns Malibu' and will spend all of his money to 'get even' with me."

The report says Gibson then launched into a barrage of anti-Semitic statements: "F*****g Jews... The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world." Gibson then asked the deputy, "Are you a Jew?"

The deputy became alarmed as Gibson's tirade escalated, and called ahead for a sergeant to meet them when they arrived at the station. When they arrived, a sergeant began videotaping Gibson, who noticed the camera and then said, "What the f*** do you think you're doing?"

A law enforcement source says Gibson then noticed another female sergeant and yelled, "What do you think you're looking at, sugar tits?"

We're told Gibson took two blood alcohol tests, which were videotaped, and continued saying how "f****d" he was and how he was going to "f***" Deputy Mee.

Gibson was put in a cell with handcuffs on. He said he needed to urinate, and after a few minutes tried manipulating his hands to unzip his pants. Sources say Deputy Mee thought Gibson was going to urinate on the floor of the booking cell and asked someone to take Gibson to the bathroom.

After leaving the bathroom, Gibson then demanded to make a phone call. He was taken to a pay phone and, when he didn't get a dial tone, we're told Gibson threw the receiver against the phone. Deputy Mee then warned Gibson that if he damaged the phone he could be charged with felony vandalism. We're told Gibson was then asked, and refused, to sign the necessary paperwork and was thrown in a detox cell.

Deputy Mee then wrote an eight-page report detailing Gibson's rampage and comments. Sources say the sergeant on duty felt it was too "inflammatory." A lieutenant and captain then got involved and calls were made to Sheriff's headquarters. Sources say Mee was told Gibson's comments would incite a lot of "Jewish hatred," that the situation in Israel was "way too inflammatory." It was mentioned several times that Gibson, who wrote, directed, and produced 2004's "The Passion of the Christ," had incited "anti-Jewish sentiment" and "For a drunk driving arrest, is this really worth all that?"

We're told Deputy Mee was then ordered to write another report, leaving out the incendiary comments and conduct. Sources say Deputy Mee was told the sanitized report would eventually end up in the media and that he could write a supplemental report that contained the redacted information -- a report that would be locked in the watch commander's safe.

Initially, a Sheriff's official told TMZ the arrest occurred "without incident." On Friday night, Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore told TMZ: "The L.A. County Sheriff's Department investigation into the arrest of Mr. Gibson on suspicion of driving under the influence will be complete and will contain every factual piece of evidence. Nothing will be sanitized. There was absolutely no favoritism shown to this suspect or any other. When this file is presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney, it will contain everything. Nothing will be left out."

Gibson's rep Alan Nierob tells TMZ: "We are unaware of any of the information you mentioned in your email pertaining to a police report."

Oh man..the you-know-whos are giddy with glee right now. The only thing I hold against Gibson is the drunk driving. As for the alleged statements regarding a certain ethnic group...I could care less.

Most of the studio heads had sworn never to work with Gibson again two years ago. Gibson has enough money to generate his own films if he really wants to. However, getting arrested doesn't do him any good, unless he can still play "bad-boy" roles.

He's already released a written apology saying he didn't mean or believe anything he said. Now it will be interesting to see if he'll be defiant like he was during "The Passion" interviews or grovel and apologize over and over. It will probably depend on how bad he looks when the cops release the audio and video tapes they have.

This is what happens when a public figure isn't true to his real principles. Obviously, Mel Gibson can be labeled "anti- semitic" by the standards that have been set in Don King's America. His parents are about as "extremist" on this subject as can be. They are well-known "holocaust deniers." I'm sure Mel never heard these things discussed, and doesn't share any of their beliefs.

In light of what is sure to become a highly publicized story in the mainstream media, Mel ought to react even more defiantly than he did during the phony "controversy" over his "Passion Of The Christ." Can you imagine the influence he could have over the unwashed masses, by simply stating the obvious truth about our "chosen" masters? They spent years promoting Gibson as a male sex symbol and good-guy action hero. He's beloved by millions the world over because of that, especially women. It will be next to impossible to undo all that promotion and brainwash his fans into thinking he's some kind of monster. I hope he stands strong and publicly declares his actual beliefs, and doesn't apologize or attend "sensitivity" classes. He is in much the same position Pat Buchanan has been over the last several years; a former mainstream figure trying desperately to straddle the line between the obvious truth as he sees it and the tremendous allure of power, influence and popularity.

BTW, why would any arrested drunk driver's comments about Jews have any relevance? I'm sure no black arrested in the past ever spouted off any "inflamatory" or "hateful" words about white people. I wonder, if they did, if those comments would be mentioned in the police report of the incident. If Gibson was indeed tape recorded and/or videotaped acting like this, and making the comments he is alleged to have made, isn't that just a little bit too convenient for those who'd like him to stop making movies? You know, the ones who fear he will indeed one day produce an independent film exposing the truth about the Nazi concentration camps? I have never read any rumors about his so-called long-time alcoholism problem. Almost makes you wonder if someone slipped him something special to drink.

I have to agree with you on this one. You can't hold someones drunken rants as a true measure of their character. It will be interesting to see how this is played out.

If Tom Cruise is a weirdo, then Mel Gibson can be a monster.

Buchanan is on NBC and MSNBC, so he's still pretty mainstream.

Ithink bigunreal's description of Buchanan nailed it. He tried to please establishment conservatives on one side, and on the other populists, patriots and racial nationalists, and ended up alienating just about everyone by the time his 2000 presidential campaign came to a merciful end. He's an admirable man in some ways but also a great disappointment in others.

The policeman who arrested Gibson is a Jew. Gibson asked him, "Are you a Jew"? I think the other comment could have been just to harrass him. He had already said he would seek revenge against him, so Mel was pretty pissed.

Hmmm, I wonder who leaked the police report to TMZ.com.
The officer will one day appear on Oprah detailing how traumatized he was by Gibson's tirade.

Yes, according to TMZ.com, the officer had an audio recording of Gibson. He also gave them a copy of his original police report. It seems that his superiors probably won't like that he has disobeyed them and embarrassed the department in this way. Obviously, he won't lose his job though. What a lawsuit that would be.

Mel's prolonged period of groveling, weeping and begging for forgiveness has now officially begun:

MEL SAYS SORRY TO THE JEWS
Tue Aug 01 2006 11:10:45 ET

August 2, 2006 -- There is no excuse, nor should there be any tolerance, for anyone who thinks or expresses any kind of Anti-Semitic remark. I want to apologize specifically to everyone in the Jewish community for the vitriolic and harmful words that I said to a law enforcement officer the night I was arrested on a DUI charge.

I am a public person, and when I say something, either articulated and thought out, or blurted out in a moment of insanity, my words carry weight in the public arena. As a result, I must assume personal responsibility for my words and apologize directly to those who have been hurt and offended by those words.

The tenets of what I profess to believe necessitate that I exercise charity and tolerance as a way of life. Every human being is God's child, and if I wish to honor my God I have to honor his children. But please know from my heart that I am not an anti-Semite. I am not a bigot. Hatred of any kind goes against my faith.

I'm not just asking for forgiveness. I would like to take it one step further, and meet with leaders in the Jewish community, with whom I can have a one on one discussion to discern the appropriate path for healing.

I have begun an ongoing program of recovery and what I am now realizing is that I cannot do it alone. I am in the process of understanding where those vicious words came from during that drunken display, and I am asking the Jewish community, whom I have personally offended, to help me on my journey through recovery. Again, I am reaching out to the Jewish community for its help. I know there will be many in that community who will want nothing to do with me, and that would be understandable. But I pray that that door is not forever closed.

This is not about a film. Nor is it about artistic license. This is about real life and recognizing the consequences hurtful words can have. It's about existing in harmony in a world that seems to have gone mad.

He's done for. The man who portrayed staunch white heroes that stood up for what they believed even when threatened with their lives is nothing but a pussy. He has no excuse for his cowardice. He is not in jepordy, he is filthy rich, there is no reason for him being the one white man in the modern era to stand up and say "I said what I said and I meant it, you can all go to hell if you don't like it!"

I cannot express how bummed out I am about this. Gibson was one of the few men in the public arena that I admired. His movies featuring strong white men that acted on principle were inspiring to me. Braveheart and Patriot, in particular were among my most favorite movies ever. I even admired his principle in the making of "The Passion" though I worried that his religious ferver would cause him to think in the manner of his remarks as posted above.

How sad that he be exposed in this manner. Clearly he has feelings that mirror many others in their suspicion and mistrust of the tribe, yet when his hand is forced and he has to truly speak to his "unpopular" views he backs down and capitulates completely. Disgusting. What a coward. I hope his father hates him forever. What a betrayal by his own son!

I have read Gibsons remarks and the most common is that he accuses Jews of starting wars. Big deal! They are war-mongers, it's a legitamite point of view, one he should be free to express and defend.

He asks for help from the Jewish community. HAH! They'll help him allright, help him to grovel forever with no hope of forgiveness. This incident will be on his tombstone, he cannot erase it and should instead embrace it as it is obvious he feels this way deep down.

Is there one man of courage left in the public sphere?

Thats a real harsh indictment that you just gave Mel Jaxvid! I have personally said much more harsher things about people when intoxicated (and who hasn't?) than Mel's little drunken tirade. As far as 'the tribe' goes....Mel is self-destructing on his own and to be honest he is probably more concerned about his future earnings then actually being repentant. This whole affair reminds me of when Trent Lott showed up on BET groveling after he praised Strom Thurmond at his birthday party. Men of courage indeed...

You are exactly right Menelik, it's just like Trent Lott. The difference is that Lott is a no good spineless politician that has been a whore all his life. Nobody was surprised by his weaseling attempt to stay in power. Gibson on the other hand has portrayed himself as a man of principle and convincingly portrayed heroes on screen.

You are also right about Gibson's tirade being virtually meaningless as he was drunk and angry, all the more reason for him to not apologise and beg for forgiveness from the very people he *probably* thinks are scum. What could be more cowardly!?!

I agree 100% with your last two posts. Extremely well said. I am shocked by Gibson's whining apology.

Did anyone notice Gibson's mugshot at 5 or 6 am after supposedly being very drunk. It didn't look bad at all -especially compared to Nick Nolte or James Brown.

Also, his Blood Alcohol Level was only .12 - which is barely drunk. Hardly enough to explain his alleged actions.

Article from MSNBC:
"Disney is scheduled to release Mr Gibson's latest production, Apocalypto, in December, and to support the film about the decline of the Mayan civilization with an advertising and promotional campaign.

In an ironic twist fit for a screenplay, Disney's ABC network has also been developing a mini-series about the Holocaust with Mr Gibson."

Maybe he has a lot of money tied up in these projects and he is trying to save it somehow with all these apologies. Not exactly William Wallace.

His blood alcohol being only .12 is what i noticed to. From the way he is reported to have carried on you would have figured him to be at least .20. .12 is only about a six pack of beer.

Its too bad he's being so wimpy about it especially given who his father is. Mel knows the whole story and he should know that Hollywood will do everything possible to ruin him now nomatter what he says and does in the aftermath. Never forgive never forget is their very unChristian motto and theyve been waiting for something like this to ruin Mel Gibson for a long time.

These apologies never work. You might as well come out swinging. I'm sure many of us wish that we had the audience that he could have had.

Bigotry=A strongly held opinion with which you disagree in the utmost.

Gibson probably said something along the lines of "f*ng Jews, they hate me and control Hollywood and now they're trying to get me." These two statements are undoubtedly true. Of course, it would be alot harder for them to use their media to defame you if you didn't get in a car and drive drunk like an idiot, MEL.

Funny how Gellman mentions the long line of talented actors, poets, philosophers, etc, who didn't like the Jews, or at least what they were up to. Hey Gellman, if all these people were really smart and gifted, how come this one particular belief of theirs is 100%, no doubt about it, completely wrong?

"Add in, if you wish, bigoted athletes or members of the restricted country club who smile at you on the street but hate you in their heart."

A Jew says this...the pot has just called the kettle black....no, this is more like a black hole calling a kettle black.

"And then why not throw onto this fetid pile of prejudice all those who tell Polish jokes or homosexual jokes or racist jokes."

What about Ho*nky/Redneck jokes? If we are going to totally defang humor so as to never hurt anyone's poor wittle feelings, why do White people and straight White males especially fall through the f*ng loophole?
