55-45 would be damn near impossible to rig. One in 10 votes being changed would be immediately apparent in exit polls.
 
Now wait for the second shoe to drop, as in my dire prediction above - flooding the place with non-whites so the independence movement can never present a threat to them again. The Quebec treatment.
