Finally got the game. Sabby Piscatelli is rated around a 90+ for speed, but not a great tackler. Brian Leonard is nothing special, ratings-wise. Heath Evans is listed as a tailback for position, and is considered 'speedy'. Steve Gregory was the only white CB I saw, no Dustin Fox. The top rated fullbacks are now mostly black. If anyone has questions about their fave players, LMK.

Brian Leonard is listed at 85 of speed, that REALLY low in this game, the other young back with a low speed rating like this is Tony Hunt..

Leonard is faster than more than half of the starting NFL HBs by my research; so an 85 sounds a bit low.Edited by: ToughJ.Riggins

What are Wes Welker's stats for speed, acceleration and agility? In Madden 06 there seems to be a golden rule that although there were a few white guys with good speed, there were virtually none with an agility rating above 90.

What about guys like Shaun Alexander, Mike Anderson and Jamal Lewis? If Brian Leonard is only rated 85 for speed these guys have to be in the low 80's at the very least.

Ridiculous Shaun Alexander's Combine time is 4.58, Rudi's is about the same. Leonard's official time was 4.51. Mike Anderson runs a plodding 4.69 which is significantly slower than Leonard over such a short distance.

I would think Wes Welker's agility should be in the mid to high 90's also. That is what makes Welker so good he isn't super fast but he is quick agile and runs great routes.

What is Brian Westbrook's rating? He runs a 4.55 and should be at least a point slower than Leonard also. Larry Johnson runs a 4.56. I will admit though that Larry Johnson and Westbrook are more agile than Leonard though. Although I think Leonard is as agile as Rudi Johnson

Westbrook 96 for speed is ridiculous! The programmers aren't doing their homework on what makes these players good. I'm guessing Frank Gore b/c of his year last year will be a 96 or so for speed also. He is slower than Leonard as well.

White QB's also tend to get highly underrated in the speed department in Madden, unlike their black counterparts. Who is the fastest white QB in this years Madden? Josh McCown should be up at around 88,89 as his 40 time is as good as Vince Young's.

I have never played this particular video game, though of course I have heard of it. Are you allowed to customize a pretend team with players of your choice, or are you forced to play with the existing teams with their respective 2007/2008 rosters?

It would be kind of a fun experiment if you could field a pretend white-majority team against the other squads and see how well or badly you'd do.

That would be Madden's fantasy draft. Aside from RB and CB, you can manage it. You can change player positions within reason, as well, but initially, you have to draft 4 safeties, 4 corners, etc.

For the PC version, you can also modify player stats. Not sure if the console versions allow that.

I see Brett Favre is on the cover of Madden 2009. It is just too pathetically funny that when a white player finally gets on the cover he is retired.

Ridicicolous that in NFL runnerback position is nearly all black.Blacks are not faster over 30 or 40 meters or 40 yards.I have seen the statistics of the soccer european championschips with french mostly black against holland mostlty white but holland had greater speed except of one asian of holland who was slower then the black counterpart.I mentioned soccer because you run their similair lengths of sprints.I can look out the website if you want to see the speed exactly of all players.their were white players wo could go from 0 km/h to 31 km/h( 20 miles an hour) during 30 meters.

Matt Jones and Kevin Curtis both have a special icon that denotes the fact that they have field stretching speed. I think they are both 92+ or in that general area.

Also, I think if you change Mike Alstott's position to RB he is an 85, or thereabouts. I tried it on my all-Caucasian squad. With some position tinkering, you can do it (Stuart Schweigert & Kevin Kaeshivarn to CB, Alstott to RB, etc.). Kaeshivarn and Schweigert are both in the mid-80s as CBs, I believe.

they rated him correctly
http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/882/882358p1.html

Glad to see they also have Welker at 96 agility, though they only had him at 92 catching compared to Moss at 97. With Welker tying the league lead in catches shouldn't he have been 98 or 99?

Other interesting stats for Welker: 94 kick return, 98 stamina, 94 elusiveness, 88 spin move, 95 juke move!, 95 catch in traffic, and 97 route running.

It's also cool that have at 70 kick power and accuracy, recognizing that he could kick in an emergency!

Other than catching and importance (85), I think Welker got pretty good ratings on this version of Madden. Edited by: Electric Slide

Also, does this deserve a new topic thread for Madden 09? Just checked out the Ravens, they have Tommy Zbikowski at 92 speed, 92 accel, and 91 agility.
