Wow, that's not far off his best time of 46.86 which he ran last year. He had the eighth fastest time by a high schooler in 2006. He also runs the deuce (21.53 PB) and the 800. Here's a link to his bio on the Nebraska Track and Field web site:

Lukas ran a 47.37 today in Nebraska for 2nd place. He is doing very well for a freshman.
Drew Morano was 1st in 47.25
Drew also 2nd the 200m in 21.40
Nate Probasco was 1st in 21.27

Seems that there is a plenty of white speed in the Heartland!

Always has been or maybe white Americans from that area have more balls and stomach for hardwork too...

Mike Myer of K State was 3rd in 21.62 and Travis Picou of Air Force 4th in 21.86. That my friends is a white race indeed.

Myer is from Shawnee Mission, Kansas and had been a soccer player at Graceland.

Graceland University - Set the indoor 200-meter school record with a clocking of 21.93... Set the outdoor 100-meter school record at 10.57... Finished seventh at the NAIA Indoor National Championships in the 200... Finished 10th at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships in the 100 and 200... Edited by: surfsider

Lukas' best 400m time so far this year is 46.01. He is the 3rd fastest freshman, and 18th fastest collegian in the country. He is having a much better season than fellow freshman and HS sensation, JT Scheuermann.
Actually, I'm a little worried about JT. He has not done too much this year. I hope he doesn't go the way of Mark Teter at Baylor.Edited by: jacknyc

I know it's very early in the year, but just wanted to pass on some good news....Lukas has the 5th fastest indoor 400m time in the world so far.
An Austrian, Clemens Zeller, has the 3rd fastest time.
Hopefully, they will both continue to improve throughout the year.

Very nice showing by Lukas so far. Another 400 meter runner Drew Morano will be competing in the Boston Indoor Games. Good luck to him as well.
