Hall of Famer
I just have a feeling that this is going to be a big year for white players and will top the year that Stokley and Bennett both topped 1000 yards receiving. A lot of these players on my following list have been held back in recent years either by injury, poor QB play, or sitting behind a black veteran but are posed for a big year this year IMO. Obviously this is a best case scenario of a dreamer like me, but here are my goals.
At RB:
1. Brian Leonard gets 500+ yards rushing on at least 4 yards per carry, 250+ yards receiving and 5+ total TDs
2. Heath Evans gets 400+ yards rushing, 100+ yards receiving and 3+ total TDs
3. Garrett Mills gets a chance with his new team and becomes an H-back running for a token 100+ yards, but grabs 400+ yards receiving and 3+ total TDs.
4. Kyle Eckel gets some token carries and records 3+ total TDs for the Patriots
At WR:
1. Kevin Curtis has a breakout season now that he is finally a starter and grabs 1400+ yards receiving and 10+ TDs.
2. Matt Jones finally catches his grove despite unspectacular play from Gerard and records 1100+ yards receiving and 10+ TDs as Gerard's favourite red zone target.
3. Drew Bennett gets 1000+ yards receiving and 7+ TDs playing mostly second WR.
4. Joe Jurevicius or Wes Welker step it up in a healthy season and get 1000+ yards receiving and 7+ TDs. Both get at least 700 and 5.
5. Mike Furrey or Brandon Stockley record 1000+ yards receiving and 6+ TDs. Both get at least 700 and 4.
6. Kevin Walter (I'm adding him to my list b/c he has far exceeded my expectations so far
) records 750+ yards receiving and 4+ TDs.
7. Anthony Gonzalez excels as a slot receiver specialist and records 700+ yards and 4 TDs.
The following WRs are guys that are fighting to stay in the league and need some game action to prove something or they will wind up as Kevin Kasper like "caste" offs:
1. Jeremhe Urban records 15+ catches and 1+ TD.
2. David Anderson records 10+ catches and 1+ TD.
3. Mike Hass grabs 5+ catches and records his first career season TD.
Why does he have to have Lovie as his coach? This dude is better than David Anderson, but unlike Anderson never sees the field.
At TE:
1. Veterans Todd Heap, Jeremy Shockey or Jason Witten record their first 1000+ yard season w/ 8+ TDs. All record at least 600 and 4.
2. Dallas Clark, Owen Daniels or Heath Miller pull in 1000+ receiving yards w/ 8+ TDs. All record at least 600 and 4.
3. New wave athletic TEs Greg Olsen or Tony Sheffler grab 700+ yards receiving and 5+ TDs, both get 500 and 3, showing a sign of things to come.
4. Chris Cooley does his usual and grabs at least 700+ yards receiving and 5+ TDs.
Lets check back at the end of the season:
If half of these things have happened it will be a good season for us.
If two thirds or more have happened it will be an amazing "caste breaking" season
If between a third and half of these things have happened it will be a mediocre season.
If less than a third of these things have happened than that's just the good old NFL
and a sign that Shack Harris may become the next commish.
