The media needs every sport to have a "face," and that face
must be black. Football has Michael Vick. Golf has Tiger
Woods. Baseball has Barry Bonds. Hockey has Jarome Iginla.
Tennis has the Williams sisters. Basketball has Lebron James.
I will give him credit for being a good player, especially at his
age. We would love him if he were white. But the media hype
always goes too far.

I find it funny that a guy like Mike Wilbon on Pardon thr Interruption always pick the Williams sisters and Tiger Woods to win every tournament. I'm not kidding. To me, it seems like the blacks feel the need to have a black in the sport for them to care about it. before woods, blacks didnt play golf that much. Now it's cool, i guess, my point being, if people like Wilbon like all sports give Phil or Ernie props, not just saying well Woods have an off day. I mean if a black were in water polo, and did won something, he's automatically the best in the history of the sport.

Is Lebron James the one who has the Samurai in his Nike commericial? I heard on 48 hours or 60 minutes(I know it was one of those) that the Japanese were angry that they showed their culture being defeated by a basketball player. They will not air the commericial in that country because of it. If it's not Japan then It must be China, but this is true. I'll look for an article on the net later because it was really interesting.

I think you are an idiot if this is what you truly believe. I too think LeBronis overhyped, but no matter how much I don't like him he is still a damn good player. Maybe the media will stop hypingblack players if therewere any good white players that weren't European born.

Blacks are protected by the refs and the media from fair competition against good white players. If whites were allowed to be more aggressive, they would be, and the complexion of the game would be altered, pun intended.

You must have some selective vision because I dont see that. I guessyou never heard of Bill Laimbeer,Tom Chambers,Kevin Mchale,Dirk Noviski,Steve Nash, Mark Price etc etc. They were all good agressive white players that were allowed to play that way. I remember in the playoffs a couple of years back I saw Dirk Noviski throw a elbow at a black players head and the referee didnt even throw him out of the game for it. It goes both ways.

Lebron is overated.Can he score?Yes & he can pass too but
as a whole he is the most overated player in the nba.
I know he is still young so spare me but the comparisons
to MJ make me sick.Kobe & McGrady are more talented than
Lebron.James doesn't play much defense,isn't that good
of a shot blocker and doesn't get alot of steals.MJ made
the all-defensive team consistantly.He also scored over

Colonel Reb, you're definetely right. White players are not allowed to play aggressive defense like black players. If people can't see this there is really nothing we can say to convince them. Its a judgement call as is basketball officiating. If find it interesting that sports that are dominated by whites usually don't depend on refrees judgements or coachs' decisions. Take baseball for example; although whites are still caste into certain positions, it is still mostly dominated by whites. Umpire's decisions are mostly reflexive, making race a non-issue, and managers decisions are highly based on statistics which are hard to skew.


Football, on the other hand, relies greatly on coaches decisions and perspectives which are highly prejucial.


Basketball relies greatly on both coaches decision and refrees' judgements. No surprise that those two sports are dominated by blacks (in america). Edited by: Kaptain Poop

Black Guy, it might have went both ways in the 70's or early 80's, but not anymore. Most white guys aren't allowed to play defense. Dirk may get a play every once in a while, but most of the time, he will get called quicker than a black player. If you deny that, you deny reality.

i just read a story that lebron paid the booster back the money he owed him for the lexus he got when he was in high school. Now i think lebron should also pay the government back for all those year his mother was on welfare. I think that is only fair.

What would really be fair is if everyone who abused welfare was made to pay it back. That's just a pipe dream though. Of course, we would also have to admit that Social Security is a welfare program and wean ourselves off of it. Then everybody would "pull their weight."

But then again, when a young boy has hundreds of millions of corporate dollars thrown at him, and is the object of worship from the media and fans, is it really that unexpected that it would go to his head in such a manner? You can't talk to your mother like that. Lebron or in this Celtics series Lebrick should have more honor than that. But I am sure that Lebron is embarrassed at times by his mother with some of her run-ins with the law last year. She was arrested last year for drunk driving in Lebron's hometown of Akron. He's very lucky it wasn't Mothers Day or this would have been a bigger and much more embarrassing story.
