Lachlan Kennedy 6.43, 9.85 and 20.12

"No White will never be Heavyweight boxing champion."
- Blacky

"No White will ever run sub 10."
-Blacky

Blacky on suicide watch now.

I remember hearing all of those things as do most of us here on this message board. The Klitschko's help to change perceptions
about white heavyweight boxers. In the same way Christophe Lemaitre changed views in track in the sprints.

We have had many white heavyweight champions along with all the other weight categories.

What I've always wanted and always believed is that a white sprinter can win a gold medal in the Olympics or World Championships!
This is now possible with 2 of our guys. Let's hope many more follow in their footsteps. Seeing the comments from certain fans online
including hate videos makes me laugh at the jealousy they show and how fragile their egos are.

I believe that Lachlan Kennedy can go in the 9.60's range eventually. The world record is 9.58. Can you imagine if a white sprinter
broke the world record as the fastest man in the world? The kid is only 22 and has only been in athletics for 5 years. He played Rugby
and luckily was spotted flying all over the field. We lost so many of our best athletes to others sports & to the business world.

As long as track and field pays semi pro money you will always have the problem of Western athletes dropping out of the sport unless they secure 6 figure sponsorship deals.

Johnathan Edwards stated that's why his record is still on the books and I suspect this is similar to Powell's record too as both events pay poorly for world class athletics.

From what I have seen of recent White athletes in the 100 and to a lesser extent in the 200 most have had parents who competed in the sport and can spot talent in their children.

In boxing only Fury and Morrison(who is Metis) have world titles from Western countries the rest have been Eastern European/Western Asian or South African. This is just due to the dangers of boxing and the relative wealth of people in these countries.

I wonder what Rohan Browning thinks?
It was supposed to be him, running sub-10s and winning medals.

I would think Browning is pissed off and a wee bit jealous. I am sure he will go even harder in his training if he doesn't retire. Personally I think he can go sub 10 but he wont break 9.90.

Lachlan Kennedy runs his semifinal heat of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in a new p.b. of 20.12! Hoping for a sub 20 in the finals.

Finished 3rd and just sneaked into the final. But Lachie has stated that he isn't really invested in the 200. His talent, body type and focus is on 60 and 100. But you never know, still hoping for a surprise tomorrow.

Kennedy will be really zapped by relay time. I'd rather he was fresher for that.
Law and Murphy both disappointed and I doubt Law will be in the relay

yep, I though of a song by Yvonne Fair way back ... "it should've been me".
I thought of Jeremy Wariner when Browning swapped coaches a while back - I thought "this sounds a bit desperate and I'm not sure how it will go"

I just hope he can raise himself to that level once more. After Tokyo we and he expected much. He got back to 10.01 briefly in 2025 but he's turning 29 on 31st December ... how much inner drive will he have left. Hopefully enough to train for the Worlds in 2027, but LA '28 ??

Yes this is true but he needs to get used to running rounds to be an elite sprinter. I've always said the 200's help your 100. So you should
run them even if your not that good. If Kennedy has enough endurance I'm expecting a flat 20 or for him to just dip below the 20 second barrier. It really looks good on a resume to be a sub 10/sub 20 sprinter. A very elite club.
