Kubrat Pulev is fighting Michael Sprott on Saturday Jan 14.

It will be shown on BoxNation in the UK, Polsat in Poland and maybe on ARD in Germany.

from fightnews:

Unbeaten heavyweight Kubrat Pulev (15-0, 7 KOs) scored a nine round TKO over Michael Sprott (36-18, 17 KOs), who didn’t come out for round ten in a bout for the IBF International heavyweight title.

I thought that this would be more of a war than it turned out to be. I see that BoxRec has elevated Pulev to #4 - too high - and dropped D. all the way down to #20 - too low.

Son of a bitch! I thought this fight would be the 2nd last before Povetkin. I missed it!

Glad Pulev won though. I believe he'll now be the next IBF mandatory for Wlad. Stupid of the IBF not to make Pulev fight Solis or Adamek to get the mandatory as originally planned.

The fight is still on EPIX. Pulev is 6'5, 250 and looks tiny compared to the 6'8, 300 lb Ustinov. He still fights very aggresive though.

Kubrat Pulev vs Tony Thompson is on for August 24.

Thompson is a tall, long-armed, strong, durable fighter with an awkward southpaw style and he's has never really lost to anyone except Wladimir Klitschko.

This is a very good heavyweight matchup.

I heard they were negotiating this fight. I'm a little shocked that the Thompson camp agreed to such a quick turnaround date after Price II. The short training camp for Thompson should help Pulev. It's not like Thompson didn't take punishment against Price in their rematch.

Thompson says already being in shape will help him:

I know y'all wondering bout the quick turn around but it works in my favor I'm already in fight shape do just have to tweak some things

Pulev after his long layoff may have some ring rust.

Pulev-Thompson clash receives IBF approval

Sauerland Event has announced that the IBF has OK’d the heavyweight showdown between IBF #1 heavyweight and European champion Kubrat Pulev and two-time world title challenger and #4 rated Tony Thompson is on. The fight is slated to take place August 24th in Schwerin, Germany, and will be a final eliminator with the winner to fight the winner of Klitschko-Povetkin. Should Thompson win, it would be the third time he’s earned a mandatory title shot for the IBF belt.

Well I sure hope that Pulev wins. Thompson is going on about Klitschko III. Good grief, that's all we need.

He had better win. Thompsons only losses are to Wladimir Klitschko, other than a loss to some black bum but that was years ago. He hasn't fought any of the top white fighters unless you count Price. Pulev is a good fighter though I think he should be knocking more guys out.
