I Just saw a news break that Kobe Bryant was killed today in a helicopter crash. He was 41.

Gotta say he was a money player who came to win every game. RIP.

May he rest in peace. He had 1 of his kids with him and 5 people died altogether. I will say this. He was closer to MJ than Lebron will ever be. Kobe was one of the greatest players ever and if the
game was on the line he would go out and find a way to win it more likely than Lebron. Kobe won 5 of 7 Nba Titles. Lebron is 3 of 9. May God watch over his family.

Now that I've said that let me add that he did unspeakable things off the court. Things he will have to answer for. We all have to be held accountable. I only liked what he did on the court. That's it. It's disgusting to even start to get into the other things. We all know. I still wish his family who is innocent the best. As a christian I still feel for the loss of a loved one to the family.

His 13 year old daughter was on-board too. Truly horrific. RIP to both.

Wasn't a fan of him and we all know about the incident at the hotel many years ago. Having said though, the manner in which he died was truly horrific and to have his 13 year old daughter with him makes this tragedy all that much worse. May he rest in peace.

His death less than 24 hours after James passed him on the NBA all time scoring list seemed Buddy Holly like, these two will now have the tragic circumstances of this milestone discussed by fans and historians for decades to come, similar to Holly, Marciano and others.

It's too bad that others were killed but Bryant dying is no great loss.

Here's some information about Kobe Bryant's sexual assault accusation. He admitted to strangling the young woman and she had bruises on her neck but somehow the mainstream media failed to report this aspect of the accusation.

He was one of the most competitive players of all time, and one of the greatest. Better than Lebron and more hungry and always going for it with any game on the line. Along with Bird, Jordan, Magic and Stockton he was truly a real competitor and maybe the best at that ever. He was not a great person. He was a great basketball player. Sad about his daughter and all involved. May God and our Lord Jesus Christ give peace to his family and all families who had loved ones die.

Dying in a helicopter crash is horrific. It's usually not the impact but the blades slicing through ppl. Hopefully, the deaths were quick and painless. Regarding his rape accusations. I remember the white girl being very homely looking. She went up to his room in the late hours. Kissing and hugging led to rape. Every human is flawed. Bryant can ask for forgiveness from God and be sorry for his misdeeds.

never a big fan of his, but I respected the talent. Was shocked when I heard it. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. prayers to his family.
"For whosoever shall call upon the Lord shall be saved" Romans 10:13. A lot of times helicopters hit power lines which causes them to crash.

He strangled her by his own admission. He violently raped a white woman. She's probably not the only one he did that to.

Rest in Hell Kobe. Imagine the reverse. Would blacks line up to laminate the death of a White Superstar accused of raping a black teen girl with solid evidence that it did in fact happen? Not a chance. And with what we know about black behavior and with the evidence of admitted strangulation and sodomization how could we even doubt that it happened?

Yeah, everyone is supposed to feel sorry when someone dies, but I was not a fan of his. He raped that white girl, as EP said there were probably others as well. And he had alot of incidents with white players where he punched or injured a white player, which we discussed here on CF a few years back. I will not miss him at all.

It's always sad when someone dies in such accidents, especially children. His daughter and another child were killed. But it's even more sad when people die without Christ. I don't know if Bryant was a Christian or not. But I do know if you die without Jesus Christ you're going to Hell according to the Bible. If you don't know Christ as savior, I suggest you meet him. I don't mean just saying you believe. The Devil believes. You have to confess that your a sinner, ask for forgiveness, believe Jesus is God, repent, believe in his death, burial, and resurrection for the forgiveness of sin.
It's not what you do in your life, although we are supposed to do good works, it's what Christ did for us that truly saves.
"It is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is a gift from God." Ephesian 2:8.

Kobe is not someone I am particularly fond of but it's worse that his young daughter also died.

When someone dies like this, whether you love him or hate him, it shocks everyone. People realize they are not gonna live forever and they could go at anytime...….probably not but you never know...… tomorrow more will die unexpectively like this...…. People do need to know The Gospel of Jesus Christ. Carolina Speed thank you for putting that out there.....

4 years after the rape he nicknamed himself "The black Mamba" citing the African snakes length as one of the reasons. His death celebrated today in the metoo era shows that metoo is meant only for white males.

The DA on the case, Mark Hurlbert, spoke at my high school shortly after the case was dismissed in our auditorium. Seemed like a stand up guy. I remember a few boos and distressed shouts of ‘Kobeee’ throughout the presentation. It was one of the first instances I recall of the masses (in a 95+ % white school and community no less) siding with celebrity and minority and appalled that they would brazenly move forward with the case. After years of a media onslaught of guilty until proven innocent against white criminals it seemed comical that it was the exact opposite in this case.

He was later quoted as saying:

“I would have loved to try Kobe Bryant. I don’t blame the victim for saying, ‘I don’t want to go forward.’ I support her, actually support her 100 percent, but I would have of loved to try that case and put it before 12 citizens of Eagle County,” Hurlbert said.

Other fun fact, he worked on the James Holmes case and another that was featured on dateline. Any one of those would be a career definer for most prosecutors

One thing I always dislike about celebrity deaths is how people fawn over "_______ the person" when the person in the aforementioned is of an ungodly (often shamelessly) character. It is only because it makes people feel good about their own selves I suppose.

This was going on non-stop on sports talk radio last night. I had to turn it off. "Kobe, the person" blah, blah, blah. He wasn't a good and great and admirable person other than his competitiveness and basketball skills. His character was another thing.

We're all idiots sometimes. No one is perfect and "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Rom. 6:23) but the fawning over celebrities is annoying and shows people are shallow. This is a celebrity-worshipping society we live in.

"Who changed the truth for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the CREATOR." Romans 1:25. Romans Chapter 1 describes the very state that this world is in right now, especially the US.
Truth be known we are idiots quite a bit. But most will never understand this. Most people believe they are really good people and being good is why we get to heaven. When in reality that's a lie. "There is NONE RIGHTEOUS , No not one." Romans 3:10. There is only one that is righteous, Jesus Christ. We go to heaven by putting our trust in Jesus Christ alone.
I liked Ambrose's post.

Amen to the max CS...

Yes according to the talking heads Bryant would solve cancer, become a billionaire, walk on water in the coming years. I saw one column that in passing mentioned the complicated legacy he leaves with his rape allegation and his known philandering.

I'm having a hard time figuring out of a fairly recent White sports figure that would get this saintly treatment if he died suddenly after retirement and the only one that was from a North American sport would have been Wayne Gretzky in Edmonton as he won similar titles and was clearly the best scorer in his prime and was treated in a similar fashion as Bryant. Internationally many soccer stars would qualify though......https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/...0200126-4ael3qq2oreo3b3njgamyscpna-story.html
