"It's funny how the whole sport has changed. Whites are now the dominant race in boxing. I'm not saying that's good, but it's a fact. I feel that Whites are the discriminated race in the sport. I am a White champion at middleweight, and look at the other two guys at middleweight with belts, Arthur Abraham and Felix Sturm. We're all White. White fighters, Joe Calzaghe, Mikkel Kessler, Sturm, Wladimir Klitschko, and Abraham dominate boxing."

Funny how so many posters at that site are ticked off at his remarks. He said nothing even remotely offensive. Compare his comments to those of Hopkins. What if Kelly had said he'd never lose to a black boy?! The sh** would hit the fan.

I love the comment by one of the posters about Pavlik's hairstyle not being natural....

He is just stating the truth. Larry Holmes and other black trainers have stated as much about the "Russian" domination of the heavyweight division.

Wow. Its great to hear something like this. More white champions should come out with similiar statements. Compare that to what James Toney said that there will NEVER be a white heavyweight champion. That was obviouslly ok to say and look at Hopkins.

This is an historic moment. What other white champion in any other sport has spoken the truth so courageously? While we may have star white skill players in the NFL feeling the same way about whites and discrimination in their sport, to say so, with the myriad of black teammates would be professional disaster. Let's hope, though, that the words of this great champion resonate with and encourage other professional athletes to speak of the discrimination they face too. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />.

Here's to hoping that more begin to speak the truth just like him.

These are great statements by Pavlik, however blacks have said much more and it has been mouth shut for us. This white domination will never stop.Edited by: whiteathlete33

Wow! You have to love Kelly Pavlik. He's my new favorite boxer (he was already up there). I can't wait to hear Hopkins reaction to Pavik's comments. I hope Hopkins ups the trash talk and Kelly knocks him out early.

I've been waiting for years for a white athlete to say something like this. It is not over the top. Just a statement of fact.

I always suspected it wouldbe a white boxer who broke the silence.

As noted, blacks like Tyson, Toney, Hopkins, Gayweather and Wright have said much worse.

If blacks don't like it then they should try to kick Kelly's a**.

Pavlik shows more courage and gumption than ten thousand (10,000) white NFL players have shown before him. He has just stated the bloody truth. As he continues to slaughter black opponents, and the body count rises, he will become as common a name as Roy Jones Jr. Fair play to him.
