Newly signed by the Buffalo Bills looks Hawiian and white to me does anyone know his ethnicity. I do not beleive that he is black I googled his name and came up with Indonesian and Hawiian as possibilities. A little help would be appreciated aI like him as a player might be one to root for if you guys agree.Edited by: White Power

Given that he signed with the Bills, he'll only take a white LB's spot. I'd love for Pozluszny and DiGiorgio to be on the field at the same time, even tho they both play MLB.

How many Hawiians you know with the English last name of Mitchell? My point being he is Hawiian and some thing else. Do we pull for this guy or not.

I don't have a problem with Mitchell. I'd rather he'd gone elsewhere is all. The Bills already have quite a few white players on defense.

I was just trying to point out that evey player in the NFL does not fit the prototypical black white break down that some on this site tend to always lean towards. For example many Europeans are dark complected Al capogne comes to mind. Many dark, meaning olive complection whites live in Italy, Greece, France, Spain just to name a few countries on which to form my opinion. So what I am saying is the world is ever changing this is just a reality, and it might be time to root for some players who break through the cast system that are'nt black, and who could very possibly be of mixed race. In my humble opinion the caste exists for every race in football except the blacks some to a lesser degree others to a higher degree so maybe I'm not as hardcore as some of you on this site, but i thought all opinions if genuine are welcomed. I wish Kawika Mitchell were totally white however he isn't, but I like his style of play and will root for him regardless of what team he plays for.

Yeah, I know. I pull for Kaesviharn. There is no consensus to reach. Pull for who you want.

Well, I definitely root for any player that has to fight through stereotyping. Chinese football players, as few of them that actually decide to play in H.S have just as much of an uphill battle as whites if not more. Personally, I pull for whites the most (especially Irish whites like McGuffie, I'm half Irish) with Chinese very close behind. I would also root for Native American, Middle Eastern football players etc. b/c they have to fight the caste system as well. Dark Pacific Islanders don't tend to get shafted by the caste system IMO, although I think Hawaiians feel it's effects a little. I root for a few blacks that are exciting to watch and are humble and good natured like Barry Sanders. Maybe even David Gerard would get my vote if he wasn't on The Jacksonville Black Panthers.

Interestingly, North African Moors although considered Arab/North African by most were a diversely genetic group that included Berber genealogy and sometimes even some black genealogy. So there are some Sicilians and maybe even a small number of Spaniards today that may have a minute amount of black ancestry from the Moorish conquests.

So, basically my point is root for who you want, I'm a Giants fan so I do root for Kawika and he seems like a good guy. There are no pure races. It is very hard to find someone who is 100% of anything today. Even in fairly homogeneous Ireland there are the dark Irish (part Spanish) and Viking blood from the Viking Invasions. Root for who you want as long as it's not Ray Lewis, then you're probably a troll.

Well put tough J. Riggans I like your answer you nailed it. I am not a troll I have made impassioned pleas on this site for the likes of Brian leonard to be given a fair shot to be a featured back. I do however sometimes have differences with those who state on this site your either 100% white or I won't root for you to me that is too extreme. I think this discussion is good however if we are to bring this plight to the masses the more non whites who aren't blacks we include the better our cause may end up being.

I think he definitely has European Features, but isn't wholly White. I certainly wouldn't exclude him from anything based upon his appearance alone, I'd have to see which culture he embraces before making a decision.

That being said, I'd rather see the NFL full of guyslike him then guys like him:

In some photos he looks like a dark Caucasian and in others he looks more Pacific Islander. He is most likely mixed race as many Hawaiians have European and Asian ancestry. He has an English surname.

Again, I have no problem with Mitchell. I'd have rather he gone to a team where he wouldn't displace a white player is all. Buffalo already has a good number of whites on D, and I'd rather see him start for a team where he'd start over a black player. It'd be like him going to NO; they'd still have three non-black LBs, but I'd rather see three on one team and 1 on another.
